Short, easy kaizo: Almost Frame Perfect

I made a 10-room easy kaizo level for JUMP1/2. However, aterraformer didn't want a 1F8 (for good reason), so the level was rejected. I have made some changes to make the rooms better, and now the rooms have been merged into a short and sweet hack for C3!

Each level is precise but very short. Each level is also creative and very fun. It is easier than the original Kaizo Mario series but still quite difficult. If you haven't tried kaizo hacks before, this shouldn't be too challenging or frustrating!

If you are too lazy to download and play the hack, there is a video.

Have fun, and I hope you guys try it out and give feedback!
Custom music would be nice but oh well.

This looks very good, I will play it later, good job
Looks like fun! I'll give this a shot when I get the time.
Hype

This hack is right up my alley (obviously). I'll post a review of it when I'm able to play it tonight.

Edit: what you mean another 1f8 that level was way too easy :D
Certainly way too easy for a level inspired by 1F8 indeed :p

That's a quite well done little hack. I like how you're taking advantage of simple, vanilla blocks and sprites and mix them into something fun, especially that one boss at the end. I'm likely to give it a try soon myself as well.

I have to say, I really like where kaizo has been going lately, after JUMP. Kaizo levels that are meant to be fair to play without tools are pretty respectable! With the exception of few bits that don't seem very foreseeable (that final drop in the first stage, unless I'm blind), this seems to be the case for this hack.
I really like the 1F8-esque nature of the levels, where after playing around a bit you can figure out what to do and performing it is not as hard as it may seem at first.
Though one thing I wish hacks like yours did is (actually exactly what 1F8 did) extinguish lives and use a quick retry system (especially with all these castle intros replaying stages over and over seems like a chore!)

Anyway, nice job ft!
It's easily the best thing I've done
So why the empty numb?
Thanks everybody! #w{=3}

Not kidding when I say this redefines what I think of Kaizo hacks. Honestly, I think short and sweet is a brilliant way of going about a kaizo-light or savestateless Kaizo hack. The savestateless Kaizo genre itself is still relatively new (even though Kaizo Mario is super old) and I can pretty much say this is the first kaizo-light hack like this. I think a retry system would be really interesting though.

Edit: almost makes me wish I had approached Banzai Mario World 2 this way, with rooms not as short but still short and sweet. I still might, there's still time to change :D
Alright, I got to play this hack right now, and as I said previously, it looks fantastic and I'm digging the inspiration you got from JUMP to create and split the concepts into levels. I really wish people followed the approach you went for more often, since there aren't as many easier Kaizo hacks with this style as there are nowadays. There are traps that are foreseeable and traps that are not, but the average player can figure them all depending on their experience.
A retry system would undoubtedly be an interesting idea. You could also get rid of all the castle intros and, on top of that, apply the counter break patch (on most levels, you already start on a tight space anyway).
By the way, that big boo boss was a clever and innovating idea with the elevator composed of throw blocks.

With that said, good job!

So I just beat your hack and some of those level got some really creative tricks I've never seen before. But damn, I had lots of trouble with some of those levels.
I was able to complete Jumps without savestates, but after that it got really hard. Keysuffering, the boss fight and P-Balloon almost made me wanna use slowdown, but I managed to get them done without.
Good job on the hack. I had a lot of fun.
However I'm glad I don't have to beat levels of such difficulty in Jump 1/2.
