Description: | It's finally here -- the second Electra demo, bigger, better, and awesomer than ever. This one showcases worlds 1 and 2, as well as some other hidden stages. With plenty of other hidden content, including two switch palaces, two top-secret levels, and a whole new side-quest, it's sure to entertain. I hope you enjoy it! Electra is a space-themed hack featuring original characters, an original story, brand-new custom/hand-ripped graphics, and many original musical scores. It's about as original as a hack can get. Tired of the same generic "save the princess" hacks? This will be right up your alley. STORY: Ten years ago, Zyclon, the leader of the evil Megacorp, sent an invasion fleet to attack the peaceful Catholia System. The Catholian Interplanetary Fleet, unprepared, was almost crushed. But two brave men, Byron Langhorn and Mark Electra, formed a special, elite faction to battle the invaders: The Skaylian Resistance Force. Through their efforts, the invasion was stopped, but to take out the Megacorp mothership, Mark was forced to sacrifice his life. It was through his sacrifice that peace returned to the system. But now, ten years later, Zyclon has sworn his revenge. He has returned with a stronger force than ever. But this time, Langhorn has prepared. He has assembled a new SRF, led by Mark's hot-headed, tomboyish daughter, Skye. Together they fight the Megacorp menace... One day, Skye and the SRF were ambushed by Megacorp in the depths of space. Skye and her partner, Joan Hilsgoph, managed to escape in a small space-pod, but the rest of the crew was captured by the evil Megacorp, who hope to harvest their powerful life-force, Honouran Energy, and fuel a superweapon with the potential to rip the entire dimension apart. Skye, Joan, and Acer, the new guy at Tech Support, must put a stop to Megacorp and save the crew before the universe's fate is sealed! But if you think it's going to be easy, then you're sorely mistaken... This is WB, signing off. |
First one, the hack is incompatible with accurate emulators. Try to die in "Krill Slippin'": in accurate emulators, the hack goes mute and crashes on black screen. Since every level which has this music has the same issue, I'll assume you're using ol' buggy am4. You can either find replacements for music which breaks emulator, or port everything to a new rom and use AMK. I'd prefer you go for the latter, since it'll guarantee that no music will crash the game; plus, you get to use every song in our music section.
In your hack there are probably more issues about this (as in, more music which can potentially cause crashes), so if you don't want to port to a new rom, make sure everything plays good in every accurate emulator.
Second one, this door isn't linked properly. It will randomly either bring me to an already played level (the green switch palace) or in here.
These are the two big reasons which led me to removal. There are other smaller issues; I'll report them as well, in case you want to fix them too:
- Dem on/off switches. Try fixing it, it's not very nice to see.
- This is what happens if you have an item box while viewing certain dialogues. Lazy solution would be to replace gfx00.bin with a blank exgfx.bin, so that nothing appears in item box.
- Objects near sumo bro flames can get a really weird behavour. Maybe this patch will prevent that from happening..?
- Canal Araaf: I won't hide it, I had to use a cheat code in order to get the secret exit. I went trough the whole level for quite a few hours, and I didn't find it. I know that you need to hit the ON/OFF switch to open a blocked path, but since I couldn't find any, I wonder if you forgot to place an ON/OFF block in the first part of the level... either that, or I'm really dumb. Let me know, eventually.
That's it so far, looking forward the update.
