Mario's Search for the 8 Jewels 2 - LONG TRAILER

Standard

Hello everyone !

Today I released a long trailer for my new super mario world hack "Mario's Search for the 8 Jewels 2"

The trailer became a bit longer than planned...

'(too stupid to insert Videos) ...
First off, could you explain what the checklist on the level preview is for? I'm just curious what kinds of things you keep track of level-per-level.

I really love your mario sprite! I don't know if you drew it or it's just a palette swap (or I'm just out of the loop and it's a pretty standard mario), but the colours look amazing! I can't say I'm a big fan of the question mark blocks though.

your overworlds are very pretty. The green water in the forest is pretty close to the colour of the ground, it might be worth looking at distinguishing it more as water. world 3 was beautiful. Maybe you should make the smiles on the hills directly underneath the eyes, it looks kind of weird having them be that far apart.

Those ex-animated clouds look fantastic!

The song in that ghost level physically hurt to listen to. Maybe try finding a less ear-piercing song.

In that mine cart level, the positioning of the track makes it look like he's just suspended on the one rail, rather than actually riding the tracks. the perspective's a little off.

and yeah, the level design looks fun. Very focused and consistent. Nice stuff.
ask me if i give a f*ck...

Thanks for the hints- I will surely fix a lot of stuff before I release my hack.

Well, I really don't know what kind of Mario I used, I am working on this smw hack since 2013 and I really can't remember - sorry for that.

The "checklist" before every level is like a summary of the things that you can find in this level.
It shows if you can find a secret exit , a present or an artifact or maybe even all of them.
A present is hidden in some random levels - it's a bit tricky to find and it spawns a white chocolate bar (1-UP).
The Artifacts are part of a side-quest - you can find 1 Artifact in each world, it's pretty hard to find and it will give you 2-UPs (but it's just a little side quest without a special meaning)
This hack looks great so far and very promising. I've always been a fan of your level design. I especially like how you tend to mix in chocolate elements to the game, but evenly so it doesn't feel like it's a mostly chocolate hack. The redrawn sprites look really nice, especially the Zinger from the DKC series.
Your other hack submissions have been favorites of mine and I'm expecting this hack to be even better. Good luck :)
P.S. I'm a huge fan of the Donkey Kong Country series, so that definitely deserves some merit from me.
Hello Maik , a question, in the old section Hack removal Log, I found a hack called Mario's Real Enemy, going to do it again with new graphics or being an old hack removed to let him lose permanently
