Tip: Try sketching out ideas for overworlds and levels. Even if they don't manage to fit into Lunar Magic completely, at least you have a base to work from, instead of doing it all from scratch.

Many people here like anime quite a lot.
I wondered what makes you like it so much.

Just really a simple question.

桐生会FOREVER #ThankYouCoco / Rest in peace, Near, thank you for everything
What I like a lot about it is the fact that many series follow a continuous narrative. Compare it to western animation, which is usually very episodic, and usually restricted to comedy only. That being said, I still like western shows too, and there are certainly anime that are more episodic, and of course lots of comedy anime exist. But most of my favorite series like One Piece and JoJo are simply unlike anything that we see in the western world. Stuff like Steven Universe is somewhat of a comparison, but even then there are many episodes which don't drive the main plot forward at all and are, you guessed it, episodic comedies.

Aside from that, I like the art styles that a lot of manga/anime have. Again, western animation tends to differ greatly, focusing on much simpler styles with less detail. And there's not necessarily anything wrong with that, especially when they are focusing more on comedy than action, which is expected to be more visually impressive. To be fair, I've never ventured into the world of western comics, so I can't really judge the kinds of art styles we see employed there.

But yes, overall I'd say that since Japanese comics and animation developed in a different way from those in western society, we can get a lot of different experiences that simply aren't offered by the stuff that comes on Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon.
That's a nice response.
I can understand what you mean.

While many of the anime and manga I like are pretty different from what you said, I still like quite a lot of stuff which have a deep continuity.

About art styles, I generally like when an art style is very characteristic of that series.
And I love when there's a nice focus on the world around, with a lot of details on the scenery. It looks really beautiful, even in urban environments.

I also like when there's a psychological thing, when I can relate to it, and learn something new and think in another way. The kind of stuff that changes you after you have seen it. Some stuff feel really magic in a way that I can't explain.
Yeah, I totally agree with you, the psychological side in some anime is very deep, there was points where I'd seek such anime. When I felt depressed, I'd look for animes with protagonists I can relate to, watch them and see the characters evolve, and it'd motivate me to change too! An obvious example would be Welcome to the NHK.
But as of today I'm more just looking for entertaining stuff that picks my interest, to kill time and stress. Slice of life animes are good for that.
I'm quite flexible when it comes to art style. I do like the way animes are drawn, but I won't whine if an anime tries something different. Quite the contrary actually, I like animes with art styles that stand out, some good examples would be Osomatsu-san and Uchuu Patrol Luluco.
