Tip: The lowest row of 16x16 tiles in a level do not appear, unless the "Allow viewing full bottom row of tiles" box is checked in the #lm{MARIO69} menu. Be mindful of this when designing levels!

Protip: Never ever animate more than one color in a single slot. It's not worth the effort 99% percent of the time.

The gimmick of this level is invisible question blocks. The level also features a lava-y "glow" that's really just palette animation (but don't tell anybody).

The left picture is no glow, while the right picture is full glow. Everything yellow doesn't have the glow because I forgot to animate a color so now I have to do the whole thing over aaaaaaaaa, also yes there's cutoff.

As a bonus, if you'll look at the status bar on the bottom, you'll notice there's an extra 1-pixel tall black line on the top. That line was flickering. This hack is killing bsnes accuracy.
Looks sexy af, but maybe the pipe could animate all of its colors instead of just two?
All the pipe colors have an animated version. It's just that I only wanted the glow to be around the bottom and right edges of the pipe, and that only (usually) included two colors. If you look where the pipe intersects the lava, you can see the other colors glow there.
I lied about the question block gimmick.

This isn't the final version, but it should be good enough for testing. I still have some A E S T H E T I C work to do. Level ends at the last pipe, which will lead to a goal post.
didn't expect i'd need to rush for the third morton coin

also it's pretty good! a little on the short side but that's negligible because it's fairly difficult, and the time you spend starting the level over makes up for the almost smb3-esque shortness.

i'd personally say yes
I like most of the aesthetic. It's just searching for music.
I thought layer2 scrolling was too slow but the level actually turned challenging (tfw no 3up for me). I like it; I say accept.
It was shorter than what I expected but it was still pretty challenging and fun to go through. As only issue of note there were two times where I got hit by an enemy and while the game froze for the getting hurt animation the layer 2 sinking speed suddenly increased, making me fall into the lava afterwards. I assume though this has something to do with Erik's code so it's still an accept.

My hacks: Justice for Mario / Unnamed Kaizo Hack
I would like to have seen a wider variety of enemies, but I understand that the gimmick causes issues with anything placed on the ground. There's nothing inherently wrong with it, but it feels like you could've done more with what you had.
