I've had a really fun experience with this hack if I do say so myself. It mixes regular level design with Kaizo philosophy and manages to not just keep a consistent pace, but doesn't become frustrating after all. I get how the hack is appreciated due to that and how it can be easily done without savestates even by those who don't usually play Kaizo hacks.

However, one of the downsides I found in it is how there are some noticeable breaks, like in Victory Road where you can basically fly through the entire last room after collecting the star. It's not like it's going to affect the hack as a whole, but it's worthy of pointing out. On the other hand, another downside is how you place midpoints extremely early in some levels which could've either introduced them several screens later depending on their length or not need them altogether; Your Friend Bill is one instance of that.
At the ghost house, I wandered through every available door in order to find the solution until I opened the editor and finally found it (the coins to your left in one of the identical rooms also gave it away). I'm faced with a glitched version of the first half afterwards - not to mention there are graphical issues in that room too, which imo was quite unfortunate. I don't know whether that was intentional or not.

With that said, I'm considering on featuring this hack despite these nitpicks. What do you think?
You have until October 21st to post your reviews.
One of the best hacks I have played on this website. A solid difficulty is present, and while it is labelled as Kaizo: Light, it is very enjoyable for people who don't play Kaizo (like me, I'd consider this hack moreso hard).

The level design is excellent, with the exception of 2 Spooky 4 Me which is one negative I have with this hack.

There are plenty of fun gimmicks present in the game, without needing any fancy custom sprites, graphics or ASM. The hack makes for an amazing experience using nothing but purely vanilla resources.

Very nicely done overworld as well.

I vote for a FEATURE! 9/10!

great example of precise, extremely difficult platforming that is legitimately enjoyable, as long as you ignore 2 spooky 4 u and the longest pow.

nearly every level gives you a rewarding, almost cathartic sensation when you beat it. it manages this wonderful balance between frustrating enough that you can notice it, but tolerable enough that you get a sense of accomplishment. it never pulls any below-the-belt jabs like some kaizo hacks, but instead you can see every obstacle coming your way and your success depends entirely on how quickly you can assess the situation and react accordingly.

somewhat ironically, my favorite levels are fireball run and your friend bill - two levels that mostly revolve around trial and error.

but the level quality does fluctuate, especially on the western side of the map. my least favorite levels are on that side, but it doesn't diminish the overall quality of the hack too much.

definitely feature

(also, coulda sworn this was already nominated. probably got annihilated when featuring was abandoned)
My first Kaizo hack I've ever played. And I have to say, it was great.

I don't usually play Kaizo hacks, and the difficulty of this hack felt just right. Not too hard, not too easy. It never felt frustrating at every part, yet beating each level felt great.

Like MercuryPenny said, without 2spooky4u, it's a great hack. Probably my favorite level is Garden Stroll- just so fun to speed run.

I would rate this as a 9.5/10. Great job, YMM. So all in all, you got a friend in me feature from me.
Really cool hack; I really like the "short, but really challenging" nature of most of the levels. The hack was pretty hard, but beatable without savestates, which is a major plus for me. I vote to Feature it.
