Update 3-16-2018:
-Replaced link to the archive page for SM64 Editor.
-Updated Quad64 version.

Hello there. I was just wondering if you could compile these into a .zip or .rar file as a set? It would save a lot of time for people. It's a great setup and means it is basically an easy Rom Hack maker. Thank you.

The purpose of this thread is not to host the tools myself, but to be an easy way to obtain these tools from the creators directly, plus you're always ensured that you get the latest version. The only time I host a tool myself is if the tool is no longer being developed/maintained and cannot be obtained through normal means, in this case, the SM64 Editor.

Hello. I have been wanting to get into Super Mario 64 hacking for a while, but whenever I download any of the tools my Anti-Virus software removes the program, stating that the program was dangerous. This just happened with the Super Mario 64 Editor (2.2.1), it happened with Toad Tool 64, but it seems that that is no longer being used. It would be great if someone would know any possible thing to do about this.

It's a false positive, the program contains no malware.

Performed some maintenance and have updated the list with some new and updated tools.

So I am brand new to the hacking scene and I was wondering which of these programs are best to use when starting out? Are they all necessary? I'm browsing the forum still if I come across my answer elsewhere I will link the forum I found it in. #tb{:]}

The only necessary tools you need are the SM64 ROM Manager, SEQ64 (for music porting), a 3D modeling program (like Blender), and Simple Armips GUI (for MIPS ASM programming, if you choose to do that).

thanks though one question.

how do i actually open Quad64? i didn't see a .EXE file in the ZIP folder. care to explain Pablo cause i am honestly confused.

even if i just joined as a user,which in some cases,getting confused when just starting something is natural,i could use some guidance,because i couldn't find a .EXE file for Quad64.

You probably downloaded the source code files instead of the release files. Check the "Releases" page for it.

@Pablo's Corner

Ok,i'll see if i can locate it. i'll respond back if i have any luck finding said release. i bet the chances of finding it is probably more than 64%
@Pablo'sCorner got it to work,thanks for your help.

I promise, i'll make a good hack sometime in the future.
til then,I'll keep gaining knowledge on SM64 hacking,plus
there's no problem with learning new things,right?
((by the way,did you get the 64% joke i made?))
