Okay? How is that relevant to anything said?
Adoption and surrogates exist and gay couples including a trans person can have kids.

I guess that makes them applicable for those marriage benefits.

But that still doesn't take away that you cannot love someone without marriage. Like, that was the statement I made.

Quite honestly, it feels like so in a few cases. But you have to admit some of you guys a lot of the time come off as quite ridiculous with your "ideas" (not particularly your case right now so don't worry).
You should have realised by now that this community is highly supportive of LGBTQ+ people, and if you come around with trans/homophobic ideals you should expect to get bashed down pretty quickly. And I don't blame the community for it.

Pretty off-topic here. Carry on.

I can't believe Donald Trump won, he's a disgrace to this country, but what really shocked me, is how Hillary Clinton got more popular votes than him, which makes absolutely no fucking sense to me! I mean come on, if more Americans wanted Clinton for president, then she should her seat in the White House, right? With the electoral college, it seems that popular votes have no say whatsoever, which is completely absurd! Everyone should have their say in voting. This proves that this system is rigged.

I completely agree with this. Taxes are supposed to benefit the country as a whole, so if we lowered them, then how the hell are we gonna have money for healthcare, education, building roads/highways, etc.? What's really funny though, is that Trump said he's smart for not paying taxes, even though that greedy bastard is practically swimming in money.

I never knew Trump was against gay marriage, but I should have known, I mean what could you expect from him. smh.

Whew, what a comfort for them. They may be hated, stigmatized, demonized, treated as second-class humans, in some places even hurt or killed, but at least they can still love each other. That's totally just as good!

Seriously, did you read that out loud to you? That point is about as meaningful as saying "well, Hitler might have killed many Jews, but at least they could still flee from the country and live elsewhere". Like seriously, wot.

I blame you for not doing voter fraud like 300,000 times and thus bringing down Florida. :D

Hopefully the electoral college people all lose faith in Trump simultaneously or something.
Oh man, so much salt in this thread. I never knew SMWC was this liberal. Please get a grip people. Trump isn't going to genocide the minorities or whatever, as much as the media would like you to believe.

A reminder that if Hillary got office we'd get another four years of Obamacare, which is undeniably a disaster. America's healthcare system is in the toilet, yes, and I think it's been proven that Obama's solution isn't effective. Also, a tax hike would absolutely slaughter small businesses, which are already struggling to stay afloat amidst things like the previously mentioned Obamacare and the minimum-wage increases. Instead of taxing the people more the government needs to be more efficient with what it has.

I am concerned about gay marriage rights, but it seems Trump is more economically conservative than he is socially.

Basically what I'm saying is it's going to be fine.

Trump is, yes, and I'm actually not that worried about Trump fucking up gay rights (not so sure about trans rights), but he's still super racist and super sexist, which isn't much better.

And Pence is still the VP, you can hardly defend him in any way.
He literally already stated that he's planning to work backwards on minority rights fought for during Obama's presidency.

if not him then his supporters will. trump is supported by kkk members and neo-nazi's and him getting elected is just another step in giving them more power over politics. even if he never does anything himself hes still enabling these kinds of people
Calling people who are legitimately upset in this thread "salty" should just get you banned if I'm being honest.
uh, salty is a synonym for upset.

@Wavee
There were people with very radical views supporting either president. Believe it or not, people tend to say pretty strong shit over the internet, much stronger than they might actually be willing to back up with actions. Yeah some guy on /pol/ might say he wants to "kill all the niggers" but in reality he's not getting off his ass to do anything more than throw some more tendies in the microwave.

@The Courier
Get over yourself. I said people were salty to convey that I think a lot of folks on here are majorly overreacting.

@leod
I can agree that Pence is not a very good person at all.

I'm talking about people saying Trump should commit suicide but I'll change it to make it more clear. Sorry about that. I get that it's a touchy and nasty subject to talk about.

I did, even though I shouldn't need to considering he shows it in almost every speech he holds.

I just looked through that, and although you make many valid points, I want to politely debate a couple things that I personally disagreed with.

Are you actually trying to say that giving the power position at hand to the person that is not just linked, but actually 100% consists of big business is the smart thing to do?

This could actually go two ways. On one hand, he could just be your friendly neighborhood corrupt businessman. On the other hand, he has the experience and knowledge to bring the U.S. out of its bad economy. We'll just have to wait and see if he's good or bad on that situation.

Worth mentioning that the KKK (as in, the Ku Klux Klan) is vocally endorsing Trump as well, for reasons that should be very obvious to everyone. And he didn't seem to have a problem with it, nor with being grouped up with a bunch of high-profile white supremacists.

Well, the KKK likes breathing, should we all suffocate ourselves? Obviously this isn't such an extreme case like everyone suffocating, but trying to say a small group of 5000-8000 racist people somehow speak for the 59,590,470 people who voted for Trump is generalization.

But you're aware that Donald Trump has had more than just one rape allegation thrown at him, right? One of those by his ex-wife and one of those by a 13-year old child? What makes those less believable in your eyes than the one you linked (which was not even comitted by Clinton herself, mind you)? Especially considering these came out long BEFORE he ran for president, thus making any possible political bias impossible, only making them more likely to be true?

Okay, so this is a VERY touchy subject that I myself don't like to talk about. But everyone is innocent until proven guilty in the court of law. None of us could say he's good or bad until he's in handcuffs or impeached. Especially since people have the balls to make allegations against relatively well-known on YouTube such as Bashur and Tobuscus, I'm sure people throw dirt on OTHER people they don't like.

Especially considering the fact that Trump is very well known and despised for being a mysoginist maniac, including long before he ran for president and long, long before those tapes were released a month or so back?

But he's only well-known to be a sexist, not any of the other extreme things people have said. I can guarantee you if he never ran for president those tapes would not be as relevant as they are now and probably never leaked.

edit: I would like to point out that the law system IS very flawed and Trump very well could be what he's been accused of being, but we still can't say for sure.

I did, even though I shouldn't need to considering he shows it in almost every speech he holds.

Reading through that, I'm not seeing many valid points here. Unless I missed something, your arguments were as follows.

· He's Big Business
You also mentioned this, but Hillary has lot's of money behind her, suspicious considering that she claims to want to raise taxes on the wealthy. Why would big business support something that would be detrimental to their key goal: making money? Hillary wants to remove tax loopholes which sounds all fine and dandy until you consider that the same loopholes that big businesses use to make even more money are the same ones that small businesses use just to stay afloat. While it comes down to economic theory on whether Trump's plans will work, Hillary's don't seem to make sense.

· Rape Allegations
Unless it can be proven in court, rape allegations simply have no weight. Anyone can say that they were raped by someone else, and as it stands, most that falsely accuse someone of rape get away with little more than a slap on the wrist, despite how detrimental it is to the accused person's image.

· KKK backs him
People love to spout this. The KKK endorsing him doesn't mean he endorses the KKK.

· Trump Quotes
Without context quotes hold little weight. This is especially true about someone like Trump, who doesn't have much of a filter. And that's not always a good thing, sure, but I prefer it to the way politicians usually speak in such a robotic precise way as if they're not even human. Trump's said some stupid shit, but everyone says stupid shit.

Proven biased website. See how do link

The current KKK has 8,000 members (according to the higher estimates) and is really a bunch of unrelated groups that each decided to call themselves the KKK. There's no single, influential organization called the KKK and there really hasn't been since the 1940s.

Neo-nazis are even further on the fringe in the U.S. and are more fragmented than the KKK, with the largest group only having a few hundred members.

It's so effective at ruining a person's image that someone accused of rape just became president.
