I've always loved those background tiles/formations in SMW hacks. I really liked them in the original SMW as well.

(heck they even bring them back in SM3DL & NSMB2)

That said I've enjoyed these advent updates so don't rush.
I'll be happy to see any progress when it is shown. :)

For this special day I prepared a small present for all of you: Another small demo. Though this time it only contains one level that doesn't even have anything to do with christmas. What a ripoff! Anyways, I hope you can appreciate this small gift nonetheless.
The level is set in the jungle world aka. the world that is being worked on right now. The area in question being a bridge that Mario has to cross. I don't want to spoil too much of it so I would suggest that you just download that .bps and check it out!

I sure do and I brought yall some new information regarding this hacks progress.
(actually its just a small update and a gif pls dont sue me)

A few days ago i finished the last level of World 3 aka. the jungle world and since world 4 aka. the mountain world was already done as well I will now start with the snow world. Overall I'd say the hack is about halfway done now.
Speaking of starting with world 4, here's a gif showing the first level's overall aesthetics:

Looks nice. I don't get the blue bush, though. I understand that it's snow themed but I feel like a pale green or just being snow covered would make a bit more sense

I still dont know how this level took me two months to get finished BUT it's done and i'm somewhat happy with it.
(It might have taken that long because I spent a lot of time drawing stuff though I don't know if its worth making a thread yet so ehhhhghh ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)

Edit: I finished playing Celeste not too long ago and since this world is set on a mountain much like Celeste you might or might not see some inspiration from it in the future levels. #smrpg{<3}

Making the fire-enemies interact with the ice-blocks is a pretty interesting idea. However the more the level proceeds the less often this gimmick is used and the obstacles become quite linear/repetitive. Perhaps there´s a tricky bonus-room in a pipe, which you didn´t show in the video, but if not, i´d advise you to rearrange the 2nd half at least partially (especially the end).

Apart from this, the level doesn´t do anything wrong and if you can come up with a few more neat ice-fire-interactin ideas for the 2nd half, this could be a really cool level #tb{;)}

it'd be nice if some mod could close this thread ok cool
