SMW The Princess Rescue - Beta Testing started!

Hello, I'm working on a generic hack called Just another hack where Mario save the Princess(very long name I know)Super Mario World the Princess Rescue.
It was suposed to be just a simple vanilla hack so I decided Add custom music, custom paletes and few sprites(only the classic hammer/boomerang and fire brothers for now)

Looks fun and sweet so far, but please avoid it to make extremly long levels like your other hacks, if you dont have a gimmick wich make them interessting long enough.

Looking really nice so far. Some grammar corrections: Mistery is spelt Mystery, And the save in the title should be saves.

I love your CMW trilogy, and this hack looks good too, keep up good work!

Niko - I will avoid this type of design in this hack, the levels will have more or less the same lenght as the SMW Levels, thank you for the feedback

Great music, great level of difficulty, great overworlds, just verything so great that I almost cant wait for your next hack.

Honestly, all of these look very good. Some levels seem way more vanilla than some others but the world as a whole looks very coherent, with a solid amount of difficulty and fun elements. I especially like the athletic level with the mushrooms, with the creative line guide you show, and the one with the strangely-shaped lava.
The only thing one could complain about is the submap with the bright red and very linear edge, and the muncher stack in the last screenshot that doesn't look very coherent with the cloud tileset, but that's just nitpicking. Keep up the good work !

Hello Guys,I'm still working on this hack.
I changed the name to SMW The Princess Rescue because the other name was meh...
The progress is a bit slow because I'm too busy these days since the last update.

I finished today World 5.
And here's a video of the Castle of this world.

Hello Guys, I'm here to advice that this project is not dead yet, today I will show some screenshoots and talk about the changes made in the hack.


Here's some changes made in the hack:

-Added HDMA effect on various levels using UberASM and EffecTool
-Some level design changes
-Remade the World 3-Ghost House
-Changed World 2-2 Level Design
-Added mist on some forest levels
-Changed World 3-2 Palete
-Added 2 New Levels in World 1
-Added new enemies for more level design variety

The palletes look impressive and the level design looks fine enough, although one thing is bugging me and that is how the Dragon Coin look in the spooky forest level. I would recommend changing that up.

But I need a to do lot of test in this hack (I'm already testing to find bugs,issues whatever) so I will let a link for you who want to test my hack

Well, now that i finally got some free time it's time to show the new levels of World 7 which is a haunted/ruins themed world.

World 7-1: Booblock Ruins

It's a bit later but here's the world list:

W6-Sky/Ice
W7-Haunted/Ruins
W8-Industrial/Castle
W9-???

I got two ideas for world 9.

The first was make a space themed world with diferent gimmicks that change Mario jumping physics somehow like Low/High gravity, a no jump jump, a free swiming level, no jump level etc...

The second idea was make a world based on the hardest levels from other franchises than Mario, I already have the idea of which levels/franchises I'd like.

Crash Bandicoot - Stormy Ascent
Super Mario World -Tubular
Donkey kong 2 -Animal Antics
Donkey kong - Snow Barrel Blast
Sonic - Labirinth zone(was the hardest for me)
SM3DW&Galaxy2 - The perfect run/Champions road
etc...

feel free to give a sugestion

maybe a mixture of both suggestions for world 9 if that is possible.

Now I will return to work on this hack and finish the last two worlds remaining!
