There is currently no plotline, as I just started this.

Overworld so far...

BTW, in the first pic, the pink area is going to be invisible later. It's an invisible maze. So guess what? You get the answers to it :o

They're graphical edits of the clouds, which you can move through.
Yay I found my original password! :D
First screen: The invisible maze is a nice idea. :o

Second screen: There are a few things that could use improvement. In the rope-covered thing surrounded by note blocks, the ropes are cut off at the ends, and the note blocks surrounding them would probably do better as a normal solid block. The ledge under the normal ledge also has cutoff tiles at the end; to fix this, use extended objects 14 and 15.

Overworld: I like how every level has a secret exit. However, a few things could be improved about it. The top border uses the ledge tiles with the wall at the top; try using the tile with water at the top (tile 3). The places where the water meets the bottom of the ledge wall at a corner are lacking corner tiles. Also, the levels seem ice-themed, even though the overworld seems grass-themed. D:
Your layout has been removed.
UGH...
How Dumb!
Ice levels in grassland doesn't match!
Working on new hack.
Please refrain from using words such as "dumb" when commenting on someone's hack. Only constructive criticism is necesarry. If you continue to flame people's hacks, then you'll earn yourself a 24h ban.

Anyways, It looks like you have a couple ofunique ideas there. However, the Overworld appears to be a little bit bland and... square-y. Try making it have more of a natural feel. make cliffs, highlands, lowlands, etc. The more complex your Overworld, the more impressive it becomes. However, it's good to see that you've got a lot of secrets in your hack.

As Mario Linkiejj pointed out, however, you should try to keep the levels in a submap with a consistant theme...
Invisible maze? Hm... cool idea, but isn't it solved by simply running back and forth, or do I not understand it correctly?
heh maybe I should make it secret world :P

anyway I'm glad you guys like the invisible maze idea, and mission 316, yes you're right, but there's the problem of the time limit. my bro thought it was dumb...

and yes it is bland right now, but I'm still trying to work it out. unless you guys wanna do a team hack with me... that would be great :)

oh yeah and Ice in grassland...

I'll sort that out sooner or later

edit: yay i got the ice in grassland sorted out :P

now I gotta do it for the rest of the level...
Yay I found my original password! :D
The invisible maze idea is a good idea.Dont think I've ever seen one.But maybe you should have at least one level without a secret.Makes the game seem strange but even though finding secrets is fun,it really shouldnt be every level. But it's your hack so.You do what's best.
I've played the invisible maze before, and let me tell you:

It was one of the most boring things I've ever played in a SMW hack.

It's just running back and forth looking for a 1 tile wide hole in the invisible cloud tiles numerous times.

If you can't make it fun at all, or at least shorten it a bit, I'd have to say I disagree with everyone else on this thread.

Everyone's a critic. Even my own brother.

Anyway, more screenshots!

The overworld is crap right now because I saved the original SMW overworld over my hack's overworld on accident. But at least I got the Ice-on-Ice thing fixed :)

Skipping the invisible path...

A tower of coin blocks? I wonder what you're supposed to do with it...

You need this yellow shell because you need a mushroom to even START the next level.

See what I mean?

AHH! Where did that come from!?

Hey, this block actually helped! :)

Surprisingly, you don't get hurt while climbing this tower, but you DO get hurt when you get to the top. Therefore you need the mushroom in the block behind Mario.

There's a blue koopa w/out a shell behind that Hurt Block wall. He kicks a blue shell into this block and reveals a Yoshi. But what good is he?

Oh.

Next is a blind jump with Wing Yoshi... Just keep going Up and Right and you should be fine.

Throw block tower? Hmm...

A little farther on...

Yeah. You have to fly OVER the quicksand to get the normal exit. If you go in the quicksand, you'll either die of timeout, or you'll fall through it and die. I'm a jerk >:)

That's all for now. :)
The level design seens good, however, the appearance of the hack is horrible, honestly. I don't want to be your "foe", I'm just being honest, this needs a lot of work. There are ledges without corners, grey cement blocks on dirt and some other things that make a SMW hack bad. The overworld also looks weird to me. Try to make your hack better, this thread must help you.

Man, your hack needs more work on it. Lack of corners on ledges, many cement blocks, and the towers are IMO too repetitive. Why the exit doesn't have the goal post? It looks weird without it. And redesign these black blocks with a yellow circle; They look bad.

So that's it for now...

Graphics need work, however the arrow on the triangle blocks was somewhat win...
Some of the level desing seems to be bad... don't worry... I can't seem to do it myself...
Overworld needs some decoration... I can make those however if you need help that is :D
Otherwise, keep up the good work...
To future reviewers:

I suggest you read the captions beneath the screenshots.

Crappy overworld:

Read the captions.

Cement blocks on dirt:

If you're referring to the last screenshot, that's quicksand, not dirt.

Lacking goal post:

I think it would look weirder with the goal post...

Level design:

Hey, come on, this is my first hack... I might make some revisions later on.

I also got a comment in person by my brother, and he thinks it's a little bit Kaizo-y. I do admit, it may seem kinda Kaizo-y, but it's supposed to be fun.
bye

No, it wouldn't. Floating goal tape looks dumb.

Maybe I should take another screenshot of that...

Edit: new screenshot to clear things up with the goal post:

Screenshot of it in lunar magic

If anyone knows how to reduce how high it goes, maybe then I'll fix up the goal post.

Edit2: http://s239.photobucket.com/albums/ff289/Face_It12/?action=view¤t=goalpoint108edited.flv Look at this video (yes I just edited the level after the screenshot was posted)
bye
quicksand is blue?
anyways...
the third screenshot
you die if you dont get the yellow turtle shell?
why do you die?
why cant you restart the level or something because that isnt really fair.

and your new screen shot
why is the tape going through the ground tiles and grey cement blocks?
now i do like how you changed the pink running-up-wall block.

Those black blocks with the yellow X/O lines are graphical edits of black piranha plants. If you carry the koopa shell through the goal the level before, it turns into a mushroom and you grab it. It also prevents you from dying after the goal.

Quicksand is blue because it's an ice level, not a sand level. It's just a quicksand block, but it might not actually be quicksand. It might just be some substance in the mario world that functions like quicksand but is in ice levels.

The tape is going through the "quicksand" because it's a trick. If you go through the goal in the quicksand, then you die. If you go through it above it, then you don't.

And thanks about the purple triangle edit. :)

Edit: In the first level, there's a 1-up you can get. Here's how:

-In the coin block tower, kick the koopa shell as you would through it. Press the POW switch as you would usually.
-Go through the purple triangle from the right side. You land on a ledge. Walk along it and jump when you get to the end.
-Keep running right and you will encounter another purple triangle. Run up the wall, and you will see an arrangement of brown blocks, a bonus 1-up block, and a yellow koopa shell. Take the koopa shell and kick it on the 1-up block. Collect the 1-up.
-Go back down, run up the wall again, and the koopa shell will appear again. This time, take it with you as you go down. Run to the left and through the goal.
bye

Just becuse it is your first hack do not mean it HAVE to suck. Seriusly, You guys need to stop use this as an excuse.
How about this then:

SCREW OFF because the levels will be fun when you play them.
bye

You want people to play your hack with that attitude?

Shame on you. >_<

I know what Crys said might be offensive to you, but he does have a point.

Just because it's your first hack it doesn't mean it has to be buggy.

If people point any flaws or bugs, you should fix them and not lash out at the users for pointing them. Also, there are some hacks that mostly focus on level design without having the new features.

You should think about that.
