Autoscroll Hack
Rewrites sprite F3 (Auto scroll) to allow:
- Autoscroll in vertical levels
- Custom autoscroll speeds
- Autoscroll that goes to the left

Better Yellow Parakoopa
Replaces the original yellow parakoopa with one that flies in wave motion instead of being just a normal koopa with wings and more hits.

New Super Mario Bros. Wii Styled Status Bar v1.5
The Main Dish.
This patch replaces SMW's original status bar with a HUD similar (but not identical) to the one in New Super Mario Bros. Wii.
It's not layer 3 so you can have full Layer 3 backgrounds without them cutting off. For this same reason I reccomend that you install No More Sprite Tile Limits.
It has options to make it 1 or 2 rows wide, and some other things.

Super awesome work you have here, man! This looks very nice, especially those parakoopas. You have so many things going on here, this is one of those threads that are like "WOW". You have my vote for something here, that's the truth.

For a request, why not a mecha-koopa that will fire three fire balls at Mario occasionally (stopping in place while doing so). Sounds practical enough to me.

I had that Idea of stackable enemies like goomba towers or ladybugs from modern Mario games. Could that be done in SMW? (With different amounts of goombas/ladybugs cutomizable via Extra bit or the asm file)

Look at the very end of 1-1 in New Super Mario Bros 2. for an example.

A "guard chuck" that sits on the ground and charges at you if he sees you, kinda like this Sprite.
I would be cool if the initial direction would be right and extra bit sets it to look left.

On Pixel Art Requests: I generally do not accept free work unless I either have the time, if I see your project worth my time to contribute towards, and that is usually me doing the approaching to you on that second part. I do not accept speculative work as I do have various art I made on-hand with me. I am more receptive to paid work and equivalent exchange of resources (trades) in which case, you can DM me wherever I have an active presence on for the details and we can work something out. If not, then don't DM unless absolutely necessary.



OMG I was waiting for this thread to happen.

I was thinking of learning semi-advanced ASM (enough for sprite making) just so I could code this sprite. It is basicly Kloak from DKC (my favorite sprite).

What it does is, he floats up in the air and throws objects at the player when in range. In the original game he throws barrels, boxes and bananas (the two first throws being barrel/box and the third variating from bananas to coins). For the SMW version it could throw only Shells (a version that throws a mushroom on the third throw would be cool too).
After throwing the three objects he then flies away to the right, disappearing when offscreen.

Is it too complicated to make? I don't care how long it will take.
I will provide more info + gfx if it is possible for you to make!

A Cheep-Cheep that jumps from water back and forth, like Dolphins do, but that temporarily hovers in the air before diving.

Well, your ASM work here looks really good. I think the autoscroll patch will be super useful, and the random title screen and intro level ones are rather nifty as well.

As for a request... it's a weird one, but how about a homing layer 2 smash effect? I've seen something like this in Super Mario World before, and it basically made layer 2 act like the layer 3 smasher. Though I worry that may be a tad complicated.

Hmm, I dunno, most of the stuff that I would need for my hack is already done, buuut there IS some stuff I wanted to get for it (that is, if I can request GFX rips).

Anyway, I would like for Spark Mandrill`s background from MMX1 to be ripped (including the fade-out effect when you defeat Storm Eagle and enter his stage, if its possible/hasnt been already done) and also Flame Mammoth`s lava to be ripped as well. Also a breakable version of the X1 Intro Stage`s tiles, but that`s not as needed IMO. I dont even know if this is gonna be possible or not, but still. lol

Well, since it's here, I might as well ask. I have a sprite that I've been trying to get working for a while, and there's a subroutine I still need for it. What I'd like is a custom solid block routine, basically something like $01B44F/$01B457 except not so size-restricted (the sprite in question can theoretically be as large as 256x256, and it's solid on all 4 sides). It would be best if you could use these for the actual clipping field checks, but it's not required. Extra bonus points if you manage to make it work even if the clipping field is rotated to a value that isn't a multiple of 90 degrees (like those rotating blocks from some NSMB games), but that's not required either.

I'd like the cape to act like the propeller suit. even if its still just the graphics thats fine.
If thats to complicated, maybe those platforms that spin in circles every once and while?
