Highly anticipated sequel to the second most active SMW speedhack next to Kaizo, here once again is JUMP½! We're very close to completion; only few more levels, maps and other minor things left. Expected release is Q2 2017.

This ROM hack introduces a few changes, such as:
-Now morsel/morceau is not responsible for any level in a ROM hack. However, everybody who made this ROM hack is morsel/morceau in disguise.
-Every level now saves. If that's not enough, you can press SELECT on world map. No more losing your save when your SNES suddenly shutdowns.
-Even more levels than JUMP!
-Optimized for speedrun for you go fast peeps.
-JUMP @ SGDQ2017

I better be in the credits for the asm I did #wario{>:|}

ok jokes aside I expect a cooler final product than JUMP, so don't dissapoint fams.

I'm sure I'll find it
I hope my shitty 5-minute hackjob of a title screen becomes the real titlescreen #w{=3}
Great trailer so far! I've been following the progress of this hack (and even played some of the levels), so all I can say is that hopefully you guys won't disappoint in the end since some levels are pretty clever. Keep it up!

Makes a lot of sense LOL
A couple of the levels in the trailer look as asininely difficult/unfun as certain ones in JUMP were, and the rest look pretty great. Looking forward to this.
Definitely looks interesting and creative. And it contains even more levels than JUMP? This gonna be lotsa fun (even if some levels in the trailer seem to be quite sadistic :P).

So you're not using the SA-1 chip? That's a good thing in my books, SNES compatibility is a nice thing to have. Though I do wonder how you'll manage to fit it all in a 4MB ROM if it has more levels than the first hack.

By not using Map16 everywhere. This is not SMWCP2, the levels are mostly vanilla in terms of graphics (sure, they have chocolate elements, but they are minor parts), which means they don't use really terrible unoptimized Map16 tile insertion everywhere (which uses way more bytes than it should, due to Lunar Magic basing on old SMW level data format without changing it).

EDIT: Oh, and levels are relatively short too, which helps.

Thanks for the explanation, GlitchMr! I never knew that Map16 wasted so much space.

We're trying to make this hack much tamer so we'll be working to reduce the difficulty in those levels before release (or after, let's be honest here)

That's nice to read. These always look super fun, but the difficulty really throws me off whenever I start running one of these.

The video looks a lot of fun as well.
Good work guys.
Nice, looking forward to playing this, looks pretty promising for the most part! (tho i need to finish jump first lol)

looks like janky hell

I love it

My level isn't on this trailer though, 0/10!

this is relevant to my interests. Is it the kind of speed where you have to play it over and over again to memorize the layout and THEN you can find an optimal route, or is it designed to blast through on your first go. If the latter, I'll have to check this out

after watching the trailer, and not playing the first jump, all i can say is what the hell is going on

Just like the first JUMP game, the game is designed for speedrunning community, in fact even more (many levels do provide interesting speedrunning decisions). In fact, JUMP has an active speedrunning community, it's a second SMW ROM hack in speedrunning popularity (the first is Kaizo Mario World).

That said, the game is also designed to be played for players who don't want to speedrun this game. It is easier than JUMP (the throw block level in trailer is pretty much the hardest level in JUMP ½, and it is easier than Manky Bridge or House of the Holy, which weren't even hardest levels in JUMP).

Lookin' forward~

This series of collabs is all I wished the ASMT games (ASMT+A2MT and the SMBX games) to be.
The siblings are still cool tho
