Tip: The lowest row of 16x16 tiles in a level do not appear, unless the "Allow viewing full bottom row of tiles" box is checked in the menu. Be mindful of this when designing levels!
First of all, I wanted to thank the Public Relations Team for assisting with many issues for the contest, specially Koopster who assisted me a lot during the preparations.
Also Skewer for making this awesome VLDC Abstract Inspired Scheme and Magiluigi for the VLDCX banner.
Plus the VLDCX Judges for accepting to volunteer to the contest.
And most importantly, the SMW Central community for making everything ever possible. Without you guys, I wouldn't be here today making VLDCX happen!
I didn't see this patch included in the bugfix list, but I kind of need it for my level. Is there any way it can be included?
Really nice rules for this year, they have the potential for some really nice looking and interesting levels.
I just hope we don't get another variety path...

Completely forgot about it, sorry. I will add it soon.

Is it too late to change the rubric? Because I have serious issues with this rubric. First of all it being out of 100 seems kind of insane especially when every category can easily be halved. The more points involved, the less precise the judging actually gets and so scoring can start to become arbitrary. Because tbh, please explain the difference to me in a 23 and 37 in design. There's little difference really, and there's a much bigger difference if it was out of say 25. 13 and 20 feel much more different like this, with 13 being average and 20 being great if it's out of 25 but them being way closer and less meaningful out of 50. My other issue is the weight towards aesthetics. Specifically, the "Aesthetic Creativity" part. Essentially this means a level focused solely on aesthetics could theoretically already get an automatic 50 even if the gameplay is nonexistent. VLDC stands for Vanilla LEVEL DESIGN Contest, not Vanilla Graphics Contest. The majority of the weight should be towards level design and allowing aesthetics to seep into creativity like this would give far more weight towards aesthetics than I (and other people I'm sure) are comfortable with. Aesthetic creativity can go towards aesthetics. If you ask me, a good rubric would be:
Design 25
Creativity 15
Aesthetics and Aesthetic Creativity 10
More precise scoring and much less weight towards aesthetics.
