Tip: The lowest row of 16x16 tiles in a level do not appear, unless the "Allow viewing full bottom row of tiles" box is checked in the menu. Be mindful of this when designing levels!
Story One day Mario was taking a peaceful walk in Yoshi's own island, when suddenly, Roy's airship flew in, saying a message:
"Hey Mario, it's me, one of your old pals. Wanna play? No? Heh heh heh ha ha ha... Them I'm gonna destroy your dino friend's island."
All the Yoshis heard his message and started panicking. One of the Yoshis screamed, "Aaaaaaah!" Mario said, "Don't-a worry. I'm-a gonna save your island. It's-a never going to happen, so don't be scared of that-a airship."
The history is interesting. Too bad it's not possible (I think?) to put it when the collab gets out, but heh. The level itself looks fine, it reminds of the Mario Maker levels. Try making something unique in your level and more variable paths and secret, so the level doesn't look completely linear.
Looks pretty good so far! Aside from a custom palette, there's just a couple of things I can think of that would make it better.
First of all, you might want to find a way to make the airship look a little more curved/angled. In the original SMB3, the bottom of the airship's ends had a slight curve to them:
This would make it look less blocky and more like an actual flying boat.
Secondly, you could use ExAnimation to make the propellers spin (for all I know you're already doing this, since you provided still images and not a video).

Good luck!
Thanks, man. Maybe I can add the story to the level.
@LuigiTime: Maybe I could, maybe not. I'll think of it.
A gradient would indeed probably help that background. My issue right now is that it's too orange. Orange is indeed a sunset color, but everything is kind of converging on the same limited set of colors. For example, the box, the wood, the spikes, the pipe, and even parts of the bullet bill launcher are all orange. I'd say try playing around with some other sunset colors: red, pink, yellow, etc. to get things standing out a bit more from each other.
Hard to tell what's solid and what's not in that second screenshot. I assume the darker wood is not solid and the lighter wood is, but giving the dark wood a more faded appearance would help give a better sense of depth.
