So, I just started working on my level earlier today, and I thought it would be nice to share what I've started with you guys. So, the idea of this is level is to build a gimmick based on Chargin' Chucks ramming into turn blocks, but with a plot twist: the blocks are actually made of chocolate, and the Chucks are experiencing a sugar craving, hence this level's name.

Here's a pic (Sorry for only having one):

Edit: This is the song I'm using for this level.

That's a really creative way of implementing a Chuck gimmick, having the whole place be a world of candy and having the Chucks eat chunks of chocolate. Wonder how this will go.

Looks promising, Psuedogon! Keep it up! (Though, IMO, the music doesn't seem to fit the level...)
R.I.P. eXcavator... You will always have a place in our hearts...
Riverbed Candy?

Looks neat so far. It's 11:30 pm and I don't want to eat anything sugary, but that palette makes me want to.
Nice stuff. Would love more screenshots to be able to see more of those aesthetics. :)
I like the aesthetics, good job! My only gripe is your song choice, but I don't have any other songs to suggest right now (will probably edit the post later with a suggestion).

EDIT: Use a Kirby song. Sand Canyon 3 from Kirby's Dreamland 3 would be fitting I think.
I'm also unsure about how well the song fits. Sure, it's happy and all that, but it still very much sounds like a ship level song rather than a sweets type level song.

I like the concept of the level, but right now (not that there's a ton to go off of) my concern is that the foreground could end up a bit bland. I'm assuming that the ground is supposed to be cotton candy, and while the palette looks fine for that, the majority of the ground is just a solid color. One idea might be to mix in blue cotton candy (since that's a pretty common cotton candy color) and have the colors alternate, intertwine, etc. to vary it up a bit.

Other than that, try to think of some other candy-themed decorations, maybe? The gray falling platforms could be colored to look like wafers, for example. You could throw in water and color it yellow like lemonade, brown like cola, etc. Maybe you could turn cloud blocks into marshmallows with some palette trickery, or turn the No Yoshi sign into a lollipop?
idk what to put here
seconding the concern about the choice of music.
But I like the concept and graphics you shown so far.
If you provide any kind of video of your level, we may be able to help you find a more fitting song.
But if you really, really, really want to keep it the way it is, I guess it's fine then.

Thanks for your feedback, guys!

I guess I can understand about the music choice. I have to admit, it's definitely not the most fitting song for a candy level, but I still think it's appropriate. Here's the new song that I'm gonna use. I think this one has more of a "candy feel" to it. What do you guys think of it?

I also took K3fka's advice about the blue cotton candy foreground. This is what it will look like (This is just a test screenshot by the way):

I haven't really made a lot of progress in the moment, since school keeps me pretty occupied, but I'll try to pick up the pace.

My suggestion would be using the background cloud graphics for the foreground rather than the default cloud foreground. Something like this:

I think it could look very nice and "bubbly" that way.

Though you may want to use something more fast-paced depending on how much action there is in your level. Anything from Kirby should fit.
We'll be like diamond: brilliant and persistent. ~
Everything looks great so far. I think this level will have more decorations looking like candy. You can use some more of K3fka's propositions.
Calling Tim Follin a musical genius would be offensive to him.

You could use the little leaves from the forest background and recolour them to look like sprinkles in the cotton candy, to break up the monotony of the foreground.

Well, cotton candy doesn't exactly have sprinkles. But you could make vanilla ice cream with sprinkles using white cloud gfx. K3fka's idea for a lollipop is also super creative, and wafers would be really easy to make. Basically, we all sorta wish we had started making a food-themed level :P But it's too late now, so we may as well give you our ideas! I'm looking forward to what you make of this level.
Here's the first half of my level. What do you guys think? Also, I changed the (chocolate) turn blocks into throw blocks, since they don't start turning when you throw something at them.

I will probably end up making changes in the future, but I'm really eager to show off what I have now.

I like the theme. Looking forward to play it!
Cute level. The only thing I have to say is that the static, non moving clouds look rather strange with the sun behind them.
this is a p cute level theme

although i'd suggest thinking of a different way to access the secret exit path. "find the invisible coin blocks" is not creative at all.
Thanks for the compliments! Just a heads up, I'm planning on making the second half of my level a vertical section, and I also plan on experimenting with the chucks a lot more than in the first half.

I guess I can agree with that. I wanted to make the sun have a more realistic look if it were to follow Mario slowly rather than for it to be static, although clouds aren't static in real life. #tb{:p}

So I just put the sun in the background and merged it with some cloud tiles instead. I actually think this looks better now, do you?

Here's what it looks like:

I had a feeling that this secret exit path wouldn't work out. I will definitely change it at some point and try a less cliché approach.

I'm pretty much done with the level itself now, though I still might need to make some slight changes. Here's a patch if you want to give it a try. I'm looking for constructive feedback. Also, I might have said that I was gonna make the second half a vertical section, but I couldn't come up with anything good, so I just made it horizontal, and I also had to ditch the secret exit, but hopefully it should still be fun for you guys.

Your level is very good. The aesthetics are gorgeous, it plays very nicely, not too hard, not too easy, and its overall a very good level.

That being said, there are a few things I'd like to point out. The first thing being this:

I appreciate that you're trying to make the level not too difficult, but having this many falling platforms seems unnecessary. just remove the ones on the bottom and it'll be just fine.

Also I'm assuming this was unintentional?

This is more of a suggestion than something that you need to change, but its about your music choice. While the song is very fitting, I hear it used a lot and there are other songs that would fit that theme very well that don't get used. Have a look at the song Stars and Rainbows from Ruberjig's C3 music pack, I think that song would go much better in your level.
