Since world 1 is going to be a snow world, this will be an ice castle.
I haven't started workig on the level yet, I'll probably start this week-end or on Monday the latest, but I want to share the ideas I have for this level first.
I checked the level in the base ROM, and most of them are vanilla styled, but a few use custom graphics. I want to use a custom tileset that's not too elaborate, so I chose
this one since it reminds me of the SMB3 castle graphics and it goes well with the vanilla BG. I'll edit the palette so it looks frozen.
For the music, I haven't decided yet, but I got several options (

2,
3,
4), I'll probably design the level first and then play it with all four themes and chose the one that fits the most.
I'm planning to use ice themed enemies like Ice Bros and Bucket Heads, and castle enemies. Since this is a world 1 level, I won't make screens cramped with enemies like I usually do.
Finally, regarding the gimmick, I'm planning to use either blocks that can be melt with a fire flower or freezing water (with ON/OFF switches or P-switch) or a combination of both. I've worked with both of these gimmicks before, so I'm confident I can use them in a creative way, and I have a few ideas to combine them with walljumps.
