I hope you guys are ready for my
ａ ｅ ｓ ｔ ｈ ｅ ｔ ｉ ｃ : Fast BG Scroll generator essentially forces me to use the Flying Platform sprite in some way or another, which will be painful to design around, but I think it's doable.
As you might have guessed, the level will use gimmicks related to lines and outlines. Anyway, I might tease more stuff later.

In case you didn't know, sprite 5E (orange platform, goes on forever) can trigger the fast bg scroller too. May or may not make things easier to design

That'll probably make things a lot easier, esp. considering I have experience with that sprite *coughcough*vldc8entry*coughcough*, so thanks for sharing that info!

The background looks great! It reminds me of the cyberspace.

Are any of those lines layer 3 scroll? If not it'll make the parallax even better.
Nonetheless, it still looks cool

Big lines are layer 2, small lines are layer 3. That's the farthest I can go with parallax scrolling there. :X

Hopefully the aesthetics aren't too distracting.
You may have noticed I'm recycling and mixing some ideas from both my VLDC 8 and 9 entries, which initially wasn't what I had planned for this section, but after Lazy mentioned the Orange Platform I thought of how well they'd work together and went for it.
The second section is still a WIP, but I can assure you all it'll be
if I make my idea for it work.

i forgot it was vanilla while i was watching it. wow! Looks great so far. I love the ninjis going behind the carrot platform. Its a super neat idea.
Dont have any criticisms from what I've seen, good stuff!

I wonder how would the level look with transparency on Layer 1 (gamemode 1E), although because you cannot really make a dark Layer 1 tile, it's probably not that great. Still, could be interesting to check?

It'd be nice but the BG is already busy with autoscroll and parallax, so making the FG blend with it probably wouldn't be a good idea.

Idk how much is "spoilers" but here are some thoughts from me:
Please add a 1-up midpoint before the last obstacles (if there already is one, my bad. It's very late and after dying to the 2nd to last obstacle over and over I put a savestate there so I wouldn't have to redo the 2nd section again, so I never went back to the midpoint).
I died a lot to the final section because I wrongly anticipated the floor or thought the throw blocks were actually harmful.
Other than that, this is a really cool level and was a lot of fun to play!

The red arrows in the boo fight show up too late, i didnt know those blocks were falling until they hit me. Wouldn't be a problem, I guess, if them falling on you wasnt an insta-kill
^ oh. they're always there. I literally didnt see them i was so busy taking in the holes on the floor and the flying X they didnt even register

Level is updated.
- Added 1-UP midway for boss.
- Added powerup for boss.
- Added coin trail for boss so it's more intuitive.
- Tweaked a Ninji in the first room so it doesn't avoid the ledge hole too much.
