A really cool hacking idea I just thought of is like your character is about to face the final boss out in the beginning of the game. Not much of the castle would be accesible yet but anyway when you are about to face the boss you fade out and end up lost somewhere. When you get to that castle again more of it will be accesible and be a lot longer and tougher.
It's not the best idea but it would be cool for the beginning of any hack!Open for requests: Extended Unavailability Reviews and whatnot.

If so, oh yeah! I think that wall jumping would be an easier hack to do, spinjumping too. Tornados probably are impossible. And stars may be just a bit of coding and graphics replacement.
Actually, the tornadoes could be made as a custom sprite.

Star thing: no coding needed, change the graphics of the goal sphere to a star and just use that.
A hack where MArio is replaced with a debugger, and the goal is to destroy all munchers that count as muncher abuse.
I meant spinjumping like in Mario Galaxy...to increase height.

Sort of like The Hidden Missingno's idea, I would love it if there was just the main overworld, start at a place called Storm City, Mario's hometown, then he must go to 4 islands and activate all the switches to create a bridge level made out of switch blocks to the middle island, where you must fight all 7 koopalings, then unlock the gate (using a key and lock in a level) to a long mountain level, made out of lots of parts, but the same level. Then at a sub-map, covered in Dark Clouds and thunder, is a bridge then the epic castle. But after Bowser is defeated, you must escape the breaking castle using a time limit patch (i think there is one) to escape. This was a hack I was making until it corrupted and I didn't back it up. Lol.

expanding on buu's achievements idea it would be pretty rad if you could only access the final level after you complete EVERY achievement
i had an idea for a stage that i probably won't implement until i do a homebrew remake of my hack (which will be in like forever)
but the idea is that the x-speed fluctuates with time. sort of like touch fuzzy get dizzy but for the entire level.
What if a boss had a SNES controller in his/her hand? It should be a very hard boss if it did have a SNES controller, considering the player can be considered the 'higher power' compared to the games, so a boss with a controller would be extremely difficult to beat, no?
Other bosses like one with a clock could have time powers and stuff, yet another could be one with a computer, and floating munchers appear and fly at you and stuff.
Another idea would be to make a boss race you to the goal, like comet mario or whatever he's called, it could be like hacking in a title screen movement to race the player.
What I'm going to try to code into my hack is give Mario an energy meter that builds up by killing enemies. When it's full, you press up, and a cutscene is activated. When it's done, Mario is now a Golden Yoshi. Comments?

eh, despite what everyone is saying, that really wouldn't be that hard. Don't get discouraged while doing this, as it sounds like it could be an interesting idea. All the ASM you would really need for this is LDA/STA and maybe a little more. Some low end knowledge of ASM and some relatively strong knowledge of programming in general and you should have this in no time.

Can you help me code it? I'm new to ASM so right now, I need all the help I can get. Any help is appreciated.

Sounds like, there's the ptoblem, you're saying it'll be a certain difficulty without actually knowing anything about it.
Heres an idea, with abit of asm and knowlegde maybe you could do some sort of Mario V.S Enemy races?
Simular to SMBDX on the gameboy, it would be like the boo race.
Im doing a none-custom one in my hack where if you kill the enmey you cant get your reward.
After changing the GFX of Magikoopa to Mr Game and Watch, I thought it'd be a cool idea to make a boss of him, kinda like in SSB Melee, but with only two moves; the parachute jump (for escaping), and the sausage throwing/hammer. Of course, it would take a lot of ASM knowledge, and it would be near impossible for me since I am new at ASM.
