Awesome hacking ideas

If I'm not mistaken Brutal Mario has a level where you chase a Yoshi, is that the type of race you are talking about but then you have to keep up with it?
Of course you should fight fire with fire, you should fight everything with fire.

Oooh look at my userbar!

Sadistic Designer - testing Pit without tools.
I played that level and yeah thats the kind of level race that I was talking about.
Well, I have no idea what I'm doing but out of random I made Dr. Mario Graphics so I might use that. But I need help in the story any ideas?

Where the heck are Black, Yellow and Red Koopa Bro?
(:

This thread is NOT for requesting ideas, it is for coming up with ideas for hacks, so make your own hack discussion thread if you need help or otherwise, just don't request anything in this thread or any other unless otherwise specified. |-O
That's hardly a request. Merely throwing that out there after the rest of his post. I see nothing wrong with that.
k i have a brilliant idea for doctor mario

he has been sued for malpractice and he needs to restore his good name.

Brutal Dr. Mario, anyone?
Your layout has been removed.
If I weren't using an original character i would so do that.

also guys like seriously use characters besides mario and yoshi, there's so much you can do with super mario world besides MARIO SHALL GO AND JUMP ON BOWSER ALL DAY EVERY DAY. There are custom characters, bla bla bla.

*maybe i'm just bitter that nobody actually pays attention to my hack lol

¬¬ ummmm...what.
ALot of people use custom characters,
Notte Lum thingy has Lumos.
Azure Chaotic has Azure.
Ther are others like snggerbobble and stuff
and my hack whcih stars "mario".

Anyway for that Dr,Mario hack stuff, maybe you could do hack called Super Dr. Mario Extreme.
All the toads and koopas are now zombies because of a strange new dicease. Mario sets out across the kingdom to where a rare super pill is located to make a antidote before others catch the infection.

i think i haven't posted this yet, but my idea is, that bowser turned the mushroom kingdom in black&white, and you have 3 switches, each with the primary colors(red, green, blue)
and if you press, for instance, the red switch, all red tints come back, with the green one all the green tints come back, and after you pressed the blue one, the bue tints come back.
Then, after you have pressed all of the switches, a bowser comes down on the overworld to get you, and he will transport you to a bowser fight.

good idea?

I might put some sort of signature here once. I guess.

Who needs those when the primary colors can mix up to yellow :P

Paint uses red, blue, and yellow: the primary colors.
Light uses red, green, and blue.
...I think

That's a cool idea, but if the switches can be hit in different orders, that'll cause dilemnas.

red, blue, and yellow=primary colors
red+blue=purple
red+yellow=orange
yellow+blue=green
Does JeRRy86 happen to be out of whatever grade teaches colors yet? Because from where I'm standing, I don't think so, show me ONE example (video) of mixing green, red, and blue together and I'll shut up. Besides, the primary colors are vanilla right? That is, unless you look at yellow as orange.

not unless you backed up the bowser+overworld idea and gave the 'tints' some blocks that cover a path of spikes OR a pit.
Every heard of the RGB system? When it comes to light (as opposed to, say, mixing paint together), red, blue, and green are indeed the three primary colours.

And thats what i meant. In computer colors, you ALWAYS use Red, Green and Blue. Because a computer screen uses light. So mixing Red and Green, you will get Yellow when you use light.

It is possible to make it possible hitting switches in a different order, but it will require lots of ASM knowledge and lots of free space.

a way to do this:
Save the original palette in RGB in the free space, save the switches status, and then make the palette be when you pressed the switch, adding the saved red, green or blue tint of every color to the used palette.

I still think the primary colors should be red, blue, and yellow. Why? I don't see anyone in living memory who even cares about 'light colors' it'd make more sense to more people to follow the paint-color pattern, cuz nobody has to know squat to play a hack. 8>

You do know that the colors in mario also are store in red, green and blue?
Because it anyone makes it your way, that will require lots of math, code, and spare time. My method will be much easier. Just, tranfering the original colors from the colored palette to the greyscale palette.

Let's see red, blue, yellow, green? wtfudge FOUR switches (if I recall?) So... okay... you know all good hacks would require lots of free time too right? Although color-palette to greyscale would require a lot of time in itself so I guess... okay, but I imagine you'll have to mention that system in the description so nobody gets confused (especially people who've never heard of light colors) ex: me. So... what we've got here is a rather complicated idea that we're discussing. I guess I'll just stop with the idea on my part, but I wonder...would mario and the enemies be affected? And would it be a good idea to use mario land sprites in the game?
