Awesome hacking ideas

as for the first question, yes, they do. the whole palette includes sprites AND mario.
as for the second, i was planning to use the original SMW GFX in it. So i guess that will be a no.

(i am, ATM, not planning to make this, but if i get enough ASM skills to make this kind of thing, i will)

I might put some sort of signature here once. I guess.
Here are a few ideas:

Wind Waker?:
Yes, a windwaker frm LoZ: TWW. Playing notes by pressing it either hitting a block or somethin'.

RPG Health Bar:
I realize there are already hacks like that. But I'm thinking of SP, HP, 999 money counter, level up display, battle overworld and more! But since I fail at ASM, I can't do that. :(

Space POP:
There are sky POP and underwater POP. But with the sprite that Carol used fo the spaceship level and a bit of tweaking, we can make a Space POP!

Water that drains your money:
There is water that drains time, there is water that reveres your control and time that drains your coins. But what if we had water that drains your coins?

SPM Flip Gauge with other uses:
SPM Flip Gauge can be used to determine your time left underwater, the time of he level or the dragon coins.

Super Mario Advance: SMW "Death Cry":
As someone else suggested, someone should rip that "Mamamia!" from the GBA SMW.

SMB3 Style Secret:
You know the secret flute in the 2nd level of SMB3? The one that you have duck long enough to go behind the level? We should implement that into a SMW Hack.

M&L:BiS Bowser Help:
Like M&L: Bowser's Inside Story, we'll have Bower help. Unlike M&L: Bowser Inside Story, we'll have to make it into a platformer or an RPG.

SMB1 Exact Replica:
Same replica meaning, same graphics (also Mario) and same flagpole end.

Shoot-em-up game, once again:
This should be some kind of mini-game.It has to be hard to get to and do. With a specific amount of score, you get a better reward, like this:

5,000 - 30 coins
10,000 - 50 coins
50,000 - 99 coins
100,000 - 1-up
150,000 - 2 1-ups
250,000 - 3-up
500,000 - Secret Level
1,000,000 - 3-up, secret level and instant warp to Bowser
5,575,230 - Secret OVERKILL power-up (Make sure the mini-game is hard)

Overkill Power-up:
You guys know what it is. A starman that gives you the feather and a fire flower at the same time with sumo bro fire that falls from the sky and kills all the enemies on-screen when you have 50 seconds left on the time limit. Make it like you have no chance to get it.

Race of Heat:
You have to get bubbles to stay warm undrwater. But ou only have limited time getting to the goal.

Those are all I have for now. Bye!

Demo World uses custom blocks that allow Mario to go behind the level if he ducks long enough. If you mean having a secret flute in SMW hacks, that actually would be worth something.

That would take ASM and sound samples.

I think VIP Mario 5 did something like that, only their flagpole took the player to the next section because the level wasn't over yet. The level's title was aptly named "MARIO GENERATION".

Well for one, most of Carol's sprites aren't just up for grabs that easily. And second, we can actually make space pops using the marine/sky pops we have. All we need do is change graphics and set up a space environment and bam! All you need is a wonderful imagination, really.

Now THIS sounds epic! Wish we could do that. Btw, why the number 5,574,230? Isn't 5,000,000 good enough? Meh, that's just me. Carry on!

I was pretty much pushing my imginations to the limits. But imagination HAS no lmits. Lol. Number 1 was the flute.

Somebody should make a patch that changes multiplayer into co-op and when someone dies, they come back in a bubble that only the player can pop (lol vanilla graphics) (New Super Mario Bros. Wii) next thing you know, you're beating Carol to the epic idea in super mario world. :) (on an unrelated note the newest Brutal Mario isn't called Brutal Mario, I think it's called Kitiku Mario or something like that)
Idea for unrelated note: translate it.

Kitiku is Japanese for brutal. Carol's a Japanese hacker, you know. Also, there is a translation already in the hacks section.

the translation you're talking about is not done to the LATEST version, but thanks for the info about the kitiku thing.

This is planned to eventually be implemented into Golden Rex. I've been working on it.
Now with extra girl and extra hacker

I've actually was thinking of that, and it doesn't seem quite like it would be the same, as in, the Golden Rex is all fine and dandy, but people would prefer to play as luigi or something like that, problem being, there probably isn't enough universal GFX space for that, if someone could overcome that, I'd say that someone could just be the next Carol, unless it IS Carol. :P
Also, I do not approve of green mario! :O

That's true though that has already been done. In Yoshi's Emergency.

It was also done in 'A Strange Mission'.

Why not go to my Youtube channel?

There was yoshi player exGFX, if that's what he meant, I'd lol.
I think the simple inclusion of a co-op would take some free time to make, let alone code physics to each other everything, right? Anyway, using the original yoshi GFX for co-op would be fail, if that is what he meant.
As for ideas, all this talk of co-op is starting to make me wonder...is it possible to make a fighting game of SMW? we already can make RPG games, it'd be amazing to be able to make super smash bros in lunar magic.
I have a little juice in-

Lighting On/Off Switch:
I can see this going to happen in the near future...of Kaizo Hacks. his is an on/off switch that makes thunder. When the thunder is over, the On/Off Switch will automatically change back to OFF. It might take a bit of ASM. This can be use as for a boss.

Bomb Door:
A door that explodes and jump to a random place. It has to NOT go into a wall. It has to be three platforms and you must guess where it will spawn.

Layer 4 usage?:
What could we do to Layer 4?

Super Mario Goes to School:
You have to select the choices on the test. It will be divided in 3 sujects. Gaming, Emulation and SMW Hacking. 15 question per subject.

"REAL" Super Mario
You know! The Mega Mushroom!

Super RPG World Edit:
Just something to add-Status Screen.

Cheat Disabling:
It makes it imposible to cheat. ASM? Are you AweSoMe yet?

Basic Fighting SMW:
"Let's Play: Super Smash Bros.: The Ultimte Remake!" is the phrase I'm hearing from the fanboys!

Set of Events:
When we beat a stage or level a specific time or amount of score/coins, we get a different set of levels or events.

More than 88 levels?:
The original SMW has 88 levels and 96 exits. What if we increased 88 to 128? That would be 20x the fun!

Time-set levels:
Levels based on your computer clock. If your computer clock hits a specific time, you die. Though, there is a VERY easy way to cheat. Not even cheat disabler can fix it.

More than 2 messages per stage?:
You can read the title, can't you?

Okay, I'll have more juice up later.
There is a custom block that handle extra messages per level.
I believe Layer 4 is the sprite layer and so is used by goombas and mushrooms and stuff.
Levels based on the computer clock is impossible to do on a SNES so an emulator would be the same.
I think something like the mega mushroom could possibly work but it would take a lot of layer 2 asm work (it wouldn't work on a layer 2 background level). This is how I would do mega mushroom anyway, with layer 2.

The on/off switch lightning generator I would think would actually be quite easy. It would involve exanimating a large black piece of leyer prioritized black layer 2 tiles to be in front of everything except the on/off switches.
Then you would take the code from the lightning generator version 2 generator and add at the start of the Main routine, add:

LDA $14AF
BNE return
(generator code here)
return:
RTL (or RTS I can't remember).

Then you would possibly use the code that the layer 2 on/off scroller uses that changes the state of the on/off switch after it has been of for so long.
Sorry to interrupt, but I have to say some things about the layers:
Layer 1 = FG
Layer 2 = BG
Layer 3 = special stuff (status bar, mist, etc.)
Layer 4 = Unused
Layer 5 = Sprites
Just to make it known, if you play on Snes9x, when you press the numbers 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5, the layers will be disabled, but 4 seems to do nothing in every game, so I think that Layer 4 isn't possible to use or at least was unused with all Snes games. If Layer 4 was possible to use we will can use Layer 1 and 2 to FG and Layer 4 to BG, that would be nice, but the more possible thing is that Layer 4 never existed, no?

Oh, I have an idea! What could be if we can switch between levels with the ON/OFF switch? For example, you're on level 105, you press the switch and then you're in the (exact X/Y position of) level 106 (including changes of music, graphics, sprites, FG and BG)! so you don't need to warp, you press it and level changes (without fading or anyting), or to use it to change between ruined and normal. I think that this is totally impossible, but it's just a crazy idea that i have.

Teleport blocks looking like On/Off switches, anyone?

No, I don't mean that! when you hit the switch the graphics change in the normal game, I'm refering the same method but changing all, from one level to other in less than a second, without the fading, just like a normal switch but changing the data of the level to the other level, I think that I'm not explaining me correctly.

Just a crazy idea I thought up, basically SMW's levels (and overworld) mirrored a la Mario Kart. And x-flipping everything that needs to be won't be much of a problem thanks to Map16 and YY-Chr.
