Awesome hacking ideas

What if you had a climate controller? You could control temperature and precipitation, which could allow you to manipulate levels! At the beginning of the level they would be set to default for that level, so let's say you had an ice level and raised the temperature, bam you've got a water level! If you had the precipitation set too high, water would leak through the roof of a cave level, or rain(and ice if set to cold) would pour from the sky! You would get rid of plant life in your way by drying it + cooling it!
maybe, a boss thats a giant pice of toast XD
Why not a Spaghetti boss?

Hm... sounds rather plausible, just give minor tweaks to a regular hammer bro to make it a boss, and change the graphics. Simple!

And to make it more epic you put a cutscene before it saying "prepare to fight real, ULTIMATE LOTSA SPAGHETTI"
A bit exagerated in my opinion, since a hammer bro. is easy to kill (lol).

I have a idea. The goal is to extermenate memes forever.

EDIT: So I felt like editing a random post. PM me if you see the edit.

We cant really do that in a hack :\

Yeah, so what if I haven't shoveled out my signature yet, I'll get to it later.

hmm... i was thinking of making a sci-fi themed hack based off the popular "microsoft (bungie)" series "Halo".

but as a twist make the player a rouge "grunt" that, wen u collect powerups, becomes an "elite" and yadda yadda yadda, just ExGFX changes really but i think it'll be...

different :)

any suggestions?

Need some ideas from people who use this thread.
I have a hack where its in space so when you fall I dont want it to be because your in space you fall slower but the fact the character has a object that helps them fall slower. So far its a crappy umbrella, anyone got any suggestions for what it could be replaced with.
Why not having a sprite that makes you fall slower for the level instead of an object? Saves MAP16 space.

The object is the with the player GFX.
So you're telling me that Mario touches himself to float? Sounds weird to me.

Oh, I have an idea! What could be if we can switch between levels with the ON/OFF switch? For example, you're on level 105, you press the switch and then you're in the (exact X/Y position of) level 106 (including changes of music, graphics, sprites, FG and BG)! so you don't need to warp, you press it and level changes (without fading or anyting), or to use it to change between ruined and normal. I think that this is totally impossible, but it's just a crazy idea that i have.

Well, if you make your levels in RAM, and each screen with a switch block and each screen next to those are identical in each of the levels, then I believe you can just load your new level into the RAM when you hit the on/off block, and it would change the level accordingly. Quite a bit of work though as you need to know how to program levels in hex. Alternatively, you could use custom block + ExAnimation (extensively) and create a new level that way. That too would be a lot of work.
The RAM idea sounds a bit hard, and the ExAnimation idea is good, but will need extensive ExGFX. Is there another way?

Well, if I would stop being lazy I would disassemble how Smallhacker did it, but right now I'm far too lazy to do such a thing. It would be more difficult anyways.

When my character jumpes his jumping GFX will have an item that it will hold, the item is the player gfx. ¬¬
Oficially confused :(
What you try to do in your level?
I think then I have no suggestions, meh.

Jetpack anyone? If not, I'd go with a paper bag, just because I always tried to do that when I was young...
