Awesome hacking ideas

it sounds confusing but probably isnt when its actually set into motion. Anyways like I said I just kinda thought of the idea that way. it it COULD come real. itd just require lots of ASM. also since theres lot of GFX the 2 battles are in seperate "rooms"

but you gotta admit its a pretty awesome idea no?

Yah, that would be a pretty epic boss.
another idea ive had is something like a collection quest where you have to find certain items that are sometimes dropped by enemies

I will continue on to describe certain levels and worlds that I am considering using in my hack :
a mine based in a volcano that where the farther you go, the more dangerous it becomes to the point where there are huge blocks of lava floating in midair with thin streams of molten rock making barriers for poor mario.

the next is a tall construct that would remind you of a jungle gym. it's extremely high up and falling would be fatal. especially on top of mount sky high. it is the gateway to the clouds. however it is unfinished! so you must press the switch that builds the rest of the tower. the only problem is it's in the heart of the lava infested mine in the mountain. I'll put more in later.

Im back with another idea. I call it Ultra Gem World.
I don't have a basic story yet but I have world names.

Firstly each world will have an 'introduction' where you go into some sort of house and talk to a person and they'll tell you about the place.

World 1: Opal Islands
House 1: Opal Harbor

World 2: Sapphire Sea
House 2: Seaside Cottage

World 3: Emerald Forest
House 3: Forrester's House

World 4: Ruby Volcano
House 4: Dead man's Camp

World 5: Diamond Desert
House 5: Diamond Nomad

World 6: Onyx Mountain
House 6: Passing Hiker

World 7: Bowser's Mine
House 7: Bowser's Message

Star World: Rainbow Road

Special World: Jade's challenge
Special House: Madame Jade's place

Good names, and the idea is good too. When readed "Emerald Forest" I instantly thinked of Emerald Hill (Sonic 2), all those names are based on jewels, so the game will be a delux game? Being truly honest, Rainbow Road and Jade's challenge doesn't fit with the names of the other worlds :/

Just thought of another idea. Pitchin chucks throw bullit bills, puntin chucks kick Koopa shells, and diggin' chucks dig up ledge dwelling moles that follow you!

New ideas "pooped" on my head again!

1.MARIO WIERDNESS
The entire level is made up of wrigglers, koopas, koopa troopas, chucks, volacano lotus and moles which look like Mario.

2.OAME GVER
A level which led to a pit. When Mario falls into the hole, we overwrite his overworld position and send him to heaven/hell. When there, we find a few angel/devil srites to give it a "death" feel.

3.INSANE CHUCK
The chuck duplicates, throws baseballs, digs up rocks and jumps at the same friggin' time.

4.REAL WINDOWS EXPERIENCE
Double jumping on programs opens it, pressing buttons using duck, typing using on-screen keyboard and more! We could make a Mario-Windows Hack!

5.REALITY CHECK
Make a level full of munchers and make them floating and stacked. The level changes as you progress. Example, you start at a cave level. When you take a few steps, it changes to an ice level. It won't fade or anything. It just switches the palettes and ground interaction subtly (I think that's not a word).

6.ASMWCA (A Super Mario World Central Adventure)
It's like 4, just with a SMWCentral Interface.

7.OH NO, *Death Music*. *99 1-UPs fall from sky* JUST WHAT I NEEDED
When Mario gets a Game Over, he instantly gets 99 lives. That could probably be used for very secret level.

8.SAVING UNIVERSE FAIL
The entire backgound will rotate towards its center, like a votex. Then, the ground will flicker rapidly. Fitting for corrupt reality level.

9.ENDLESS LOOP
Make a level loop by adding custom blocks. Then, the only way to get past it is to jump over it. You have to make the blocks invisible so they won't notice until they know the level looped.

10.WINDY DAY, I MAY SAY!
There will be a tank chasing you, but there is strong wind. Probably hard.

don't know if anyone's come up with this (I'm sure they have) but perhaps making an experience system for mario. Replace "score" with "exp" and make certain changes to jump height or powerups depending on his level. My second idea is a secret :P
I've realized this was outdated.
Mkae the red and yellow yoshi powerups better. For example the fire could have 3 or 5 shots before running out, and the yellow's stomp can extend 3 or 4 spaces instead of 1

Just got another idea. Replace the GFX with the jumping fish taht doesnt need any water with a munchers, then make it so the muncher can't be killed (a.k.a. spin jumpable)

Next, add a little trail of flames as it shoots out from the lava (yes it should be lavaish looking.) Creating a sort of podobo, that looks like a muncher, that moves back and forth jumping randomly like the fish. Think of the possibilities that this could create!!!!!!!

Well, my idea:

We could do a... "single play" game:
I mean: Games like Earthworm Jim, Sparkster, Sonic the Hedgehog (Genesis), Super Mario Bros (for NES), ie, a game with no overworld map, but only with levels to beat regurarly until you reach the goal.

Pratically, this is something of similar implemented in Snn's hack
(but i wanted to talk about this even before).

For losing a life (actually, we all lost a life) we could do something like when you lose a life you don't get redirected to the overworld, but to the last midway point (both a sprite seen in the last level of Vip4 or a system that allows midway points on regural levels could be suitable).

When you do Game over, you could get redirected to the title screen or to a "continue" screen with an amount of credits you may get through the levels or bonuses, so you may chose both "yes" or "no". If credits are 0, you get redirected to a screen that says you "Game over" and then to the title screen.

The overworld map could be used as a "select" screen, with "New game" or "Continue" or maybe "Options"
# - New game: could be a level that deactivates all midway points and starts from the scratch, maybe you could have an intro scene, if you want Anyway, after deactivating all midway points, you load the level number.
# - Continue: It could be both a level with activated midway point, and start from the last point you got: this would be valid even if you reset the game, but i don't know if this would be possible or easy to program.

Watch, i made a Super Mario 64 level
I have an idea for a sprite.
Its a sprite that is a jet-plane that:
-You find it on a strech of ground, and, once you jump into it, you pres R to take of.Landing is the same, land on some ground, pres R and jump of.
-when flying, pres up/down to move diagonaly.
-when you tuch a block(solid)from below or from a side, you blow up and die(no matter the power up).
-you can shoot fire balls from it when flying with it(whith the straight fire ball generator, so it looks like a gun shotting).
-if hit by an enemy, you lose 1 of 3 life counters.
-if flying, press R to throw a roket that will blow up and kill an enemy wen it tuches it.
That is my idea.Hopefully, I will finally start understanding some ASM at the end of this summer so I can make it for some hack, or find it here.

I believe hungflungdu got a patch like that (he doesn't have the powerup idea tough).

Also, I had an idea of being able to switch between characters in the middle of a level, or choose one in the beginning of the level (like smb2).
Each character would come with their own speed/jump height & fireflower ability.
If I ever become good in ASM, I will probally make such a thing for my hack.

Those both have been done.
and the mountain climb idea is my favorite kind of level.
anyways, I have an idea that your standing on a giant bullet bill, and you have to avoid stuff.
my other idea is a boss where it is floating in mid air, and shooting homing projectiles at you. you need to spin jump on them to get to the boss in order to damage it. The screen is also scrolling, as the boss going to the other side every so often. there are also obstacles coming at you, as well as projectiles that you can't spin jump, and faster scrolling. 5 hits defeats it.
