Prepare to be unimpressed with my mock-up beta graphics and SINFUL CUTOFF.

No, that's not the entire level theme/mechanic by a loooong stretch.

Anyway I'm gonna sleep now.

I'm sorry, I am a mod here. uwu

Yeah, they're brown blocks and the eating block is invisible. The level is built from both stationary layer 1 and 2 in order to pull off some tricks without making it a layer 2 gimmick. I'm still experimenting with how best to execute all of this.
Nice palletes.

Seems like something you could pull some neat tricks with. Good luck!

Later.
Really nice idea!
I did something similar in my vldc9 level, but it was mostly only a visual gimmick. I'm very interested to see what you can pull off with it when it comes to actually designing a whole level around that.
Good Luck #tb{:]}

Project C

You would have thought that being all the way up in the mesosphere, far above the clouds, would stop things from raining on your parade. Alas, the deluge pours down from the islands overhead, keeping you down, much like an oppressive tyrant.

i'm gonna be slowly trying to improve the graphics til i die, and probably die first.

Edit:

I might finish this level if I'm lucky???

Procrastination is such a shit.

Also I could really do with gifs that don't drop in quality =v

weh
- please dont put an invisible coin block above 5 saws. The actual jump up to that platform is incredibly unforgiving and when you fall with the yoshi coin you can end up landing next to the dry bones and dying. If you dont die by falling onto those two sparkys
- What's up with the invisible block in front of that platform at the midway point??
- were those two screens the only thing you wanted tested? it starts 2 screens away from the midpoint and going left is pretty tricky

This sums up my review of your level exactly, but I do have a few more stuff to address.

-Don't put a slope above a ledge wall. The player can go right between them and get stuck in the ground. Use a proper ledge end instead of a slope.
-The Dry Bones have glitched graphics when they throw bones. Remember that the Dry Bones will also require bits of GFX03 to display the right graphics for its bone and throwing animation.
-The palette of the ledge is pretty odd compared to the rest of the colors. Is the grass supposed to be snow?
-The Layer 3 background is pretty empty. Why not add a few more stuff to it? It couldn't hurt.

That's all for now.
Come help save Super Mario World Central Production 2 here!
Two screens? Ahhh damn it, did I really upload the wrong patch twice? B-but the start point is at the start of the level in lm!!

I don't see where I put a slope above a ledge wall anywhere a player can get to it though lol. AND I SAID I haven't gotten around to fixing the dry bones or adding to the bg >-> level first lol.

Anyway here's an actually fixed patch lol.
yeah that's why i didnt comment on any of that stuff #w{=D}

-wrong vertical camera position at the start. move mario so the camera doesn't jump up like that.
-first mushroom falls through that corner tile and I lose out on it (if i hit the coin box)
-maybe put a more substantial reward at the green switch block and the single coin, since it's pretty tricky to get to
-it's still way too easy to fall on those sparky's at the second yoshi coin. idk why they're there at all
-it's really weird that the top of those waterfalls isn't solid, it looks like it should be when it lines up with solid ground.

Just thought I'd mention that I uploaded an improved and final version of the level earlier, in case anyone wishes to take a look. If there are any game breaking things left in, hearing about that would help a lot too.

Also, I haven't posted any fancy screenshots of how much better it looks compared to the old ones lol, but it's kinda late for that now =p
Oh yeah, one last thing! A huge thanks to all of the people providing me feedback so I could try to get this level to a not-awful state, including Idol, Hobz, snoruntpyro, FrozenQuills, S.N.N., GlitchMr, Maxo, Leod, Nameless and Falconpucnh! This level would be a total trainwreck otherwise ^-^
