Who are your favorite video game music composers?

(if this thread has already been made or this is supposed to be on the gaming thread, I`m sorry lol)

Well, I`ll start. For Japanese composers, pretty much the greats: Yuzo Koshiro, Nobuo Uematsu, Motoi Sakuraba and a lot of others that I cant name right now due to them being underrated AF and their name being somehow inexistent in my head and the face of the earth for some reason.

For American/European composers, Tim Follin is pretty self-explanatory. But I do also like people like David Wise and Evelyn Fischer (did I pronounce her name right? Not sure) for their amazing work on the DKC series, and also Chris Huelsbeck for the Turrican series.

For Indie/Fan composers, I guess NitroFlasher/Dominic Nimark (the creator of the MMX Corrupted OST) is pretty cool in my eyes, along with 40Nix, Kevin Phetsomphou and HertzDevil. Then there are the composers of this website themselves, like Lui37 and Izuna, and I guess CoolMario and CrispyYoshi as well. Oh, and Moose too. God, there are just WAY too many to choose! ARGH! #smw{>:(}

Either way, though, these are my top picks. What are YOU guys`s favorite composers? Maybe I might even learn some newer stuff too, who knows!

EDIT: To add a few more: ZUN for the Touhou series, Daisuke ``Pixel´´ Amaya for Cave Story, Jake Kaufman for Shovel Knight, Falcom Sound Team JDK for the Ys series (though I did partly mention Ys by mentioning Yuzo Koshiro), Setsuo Yamamoto, Makoto Tomozawa, Yuko Takehara and Yoko Shimomura for their various works, Koji Kondo for the Mario series, Toshiharu Yamanishi, Takeshi Yoshida and Naosuke Arai for Thunder Force IV, and that`s about it tbh. I`ll edit my post again when I have other people to mention.

David Wise
ask me if i give a f*ck...
Yasunori Mitsuda - Chrono Cross (Not the best game ever but best soundtrack of all time.)

Matt Uelmen
- Diablo 1 (Arguably the MOST immersive music ever in a game. From the Town theme to the tense drums and ambient synths while you descend the soundtrack is flawless)

Ben Prunty - FTL (2 themes per world while exploring and while in battle simultaneously playing and fading into each other when mode switches. This is man is a genius)

Mark Morgan - Fallout 1/2, Torment (This one is biased because I love these games so much. I'll admit there aren't really any melodies that stick out. Sometimes just being able to set the mood perfectly without you wanting to stop the game to listen is a sign he's done a good job.)

Also, the WC3 team: Jason Hayes, Tracy W. Bush, Glenn Stafford & Derek Duke
Koji Kondo (main games of Nintendo's IP's): makes the catchiest stuff.

Junichi Masuda and Go Ichinose (Pokémon): same as above.

Yoko Shimomura (SF II, SMRPG, KH, M&L): very epic progressions and knowledgeable on a plethora of different styles, from chiptune to rock and ambient.

Jun Ishikawa and Hirokazu Ando (Kirby): from incredibly cutesy to amazingly epic and intense tracks. Very good instrumentations and usage of key changes. Kirby wouldn't be the same without their work.

Naofumi Hataya and Masafumi Ogata (Sonic CD JP/EU): authors of my favorite video game soundtrack to date. Enough said.

Masakazu Sugimori (PW 1 and 2, Ghost Trick): music plays a big part in visual novels and his work for PW 1 and Ghost Trick was invaluable.

Arata Iiyoshi (PMD 1 and 2) and Atsuhiro Ishizuna (PMD 1): very emotional tracks that still captivate me.

Dean Evans: ambient deluxe.

Edit 1 - Sega Sound Team: too many names to list but... Sonic music is always great, and I especially like the effort put into the Genesis/Mega Drive games.

Edit 2 - Miyoko Takaoka and Masanori Hikichi (Terranigma)

Edit 3 - soundTeMP (Ragnarok Online, Tree of Savior): these guys are simply amazing. RO has my second favorite soundtrack of all time, losing only to Sonic CD.

Edit 4 - Tsukasa Tawada (Pokémon Colosseum, XD, Battle Revolution, Shuffle)
Dave Wise: pretty sure everyone knows what he has done.

Alberto Jose Gonzalez: probably the best composer for the GB, especially the Turok games. Severely underrated, and I'd highly recommend checking out his stuff.

Tim Follin: known for games like Plok, Equinox, and a shitload of NES stuff. The dude is fantastic.

Shoji Meguro: Persona/SMT series.

Yuzo Kashiro: I was introduced to him through ActRaiser when I was younger, but he's probably more known nowadays for the Etrian Odyssey series.

Alexander Brandon: Unreal, Deus Ex, Jazz Jackrabbit. The guy has such a distinct style in the best way.

Michiru Yamane: modern Castlevania stuff.
