It's probably a custom sprite.

Anyway, as Cars said, that's realy cool. I wish I could do something like that. (I really need to improve my ASM skills...)

Oh, some of you may think this is fake. It isn't. It's called half-pixels. Or rather, quarter-pixels in this case.

I'll show it at C3.

(I was rather annoyed when I read a message, that said that this picture was fake >_>)

Can't you use HDMA to change modes and disable IRQ at that level to achieve the same effect?
My blog. I could post stuff now and then

My Assembly for the SNES tutorial (it's actually finished now!)

Meh, Maybe nothing, but my first custom sprite. It's a sprite that makes tile 25 show up where you place it when all sprites are gone. There IS a use for it, as shown in the vid.

Awesome, these will come to good use in MMR.
I haven't done anything cool in ASM recently, so this should make up for that.

As the video states, it's like the STARSW one, but it's a completely different sprite. I added special features to make it way more customizable than the STARSW version, too. I also added the extra coding so if you (for some reason) want to make the timer use 2 digit numbers, you can!

One Question:

What does STARSW mean? =P
STARSW is a Japanese sprite pack made by Japanese hackers. It is called so because that is the first sprite that is demonstrated in the demo included in the pack.

This is a pause screen based off the code Bio made. There are seven items you can choose and they are in reserve once you collect them. There's also a stats menu which displays misc. stuff and the return and exit level option. Ignore the glitchy graphics of the sprite, I haven't fixed that yet.

Feedback would be appreciated :)
This is revolutionary. Not just awesome, not just epic, it's REVOLUTIONARY!

Are you going to submit it to the site? Because I (And many other people) would love to get their hands on this.
Thanks :)

Sadly, no I won't release it, it took me a long time to make and it's a huge code. I don't want my hack to be unoriginal but if I cancel it I might release it. This code is all based of Bio's menu as well so not all of it is mine.
This is just something I made for fun...

Read the description for information, and if you want it, you'll have to wait for C3. ;)

I just have to show off my new sprite. I created a Nitro crate... check it out!

Nitro Crate Showoff
Not bad!

My only suggestion would be to make an explosion sound more apparent. Other than that, it's nice!

My Hacks:

Not so much an ASM project, but moreso showing what editing the table at $04F829 can do (yes, clouds can now appear in submaps, and you can use a few sprites in Yoshi's Island submap now too, for example in this picture.)

ooohhh, nice, roy! How doy you have to edit the table you said to do that?

This takes away a coin each second. As soon as the coin counter hits 0, the player dies. If the coin counter is 10 or lower, a Warning Sound will be played.
See the ASM file for the readme and how to customize it.

Your layout has been removed.
The idea was taken from VIP 5, right?
I first saw it used in VIP5 but it's been used in countless japanese hacks before and since so I thought it was time we got it xD

I've been trying to make my own HDMA kit for a long time, and here's what I've done so far:

I've managed to replicate the Coral Capers HDMA effect.

There's only one problem: it's slows down the game when there are more than 3 sprites on the screen at one time.

The reason for this is my inability to understand the 8-16-24 multiplication using the mode 7 registers, because I haven't really found any good documentation on it yet. I only found a very small document that vaguely mentions it. Since I'm not using 8-bit x 16-bit multiplication, I have to use the standard 8-bit x 8-bit multiplication twice per scanline to compensate, and this wastes a lot of CPU cycles.

Here's a video of this effect: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=itjE5krKk_k
