ofcourse change the graphics of it, but good job ;D
Once again, nothing all that great, but it's pretty neat I think.

Nothing great?! Mario goes poof! That's terrific! Think that could be used with LevelASM to make it happen only in certain levels? Cuz that's what I can see this as!

It consists of a sprite (I needed smoke that wouldn't freeze when you die), a patch, and a ExGFX file because I was too lazy to figure out a way to make mario dissapear without just erasing his death GFX.

If I make it hide his GFX itself, it MIGHT work with levelASM. However, it replaces the death routine so, I'd have to think if there is a way to restore it.

EDIT:
And yeah, I know HOW to restore it, but i mean in a way that it will work.
Well, I was making a patch that does the same thing, except that it resets the level, but I could not figure out how to reset only the Overworld entered levels without any bugs..

But overall, is pretty nice :)
@MarioEdit:
Really great you got it in SMW, now hacks can be more NSMB-like :3

@SomeGuy:
Perfect ^^ now you can have diffrent graphics then Mario, and have them dieing with them going in the air and back down (always annoyed me..)

Err. That's actually extremely easy =/

Just keep the original death routine as well as the new one, and upon death, run a comparison to check which of them to use, depending on a certain bit that can be set via Levelasm.

Heh. That's actually a pretty good idea.
There is an "obscure parts of mario" flag.

Tried that already. Only lasts a few frames.
it probably only lasts a few frames because you put it in the sprite's routine? Try making a hijack that checks if dying and if yes, obscure mario every frame. $00A2B1 is a good place, i think.

grrrrr stuff

Why is it that most of your videos contain 5 hours of video footage to demonstrate a gimmick of 10 seconds? #w{:<}
No offense, really. Most of the stuff you make is pretty cool. Just wanted to suggest that you should focus more on the actual gimmick you're recording. Pretty often when I watch your videos I think "Oh lord, when is the gimmick finally going to show up?". And then, when it finally does, you demonstrate the same gimmick over and over again for minutes, making us viewers think "Hey, maybe there's something more at the end", which rarely is the case. In this video for example it took 30 to 35 seconds for the star power to run out and then the actual gimmick was just shown for 15 seconds or less. I noticed this in quite a few of your other videos as well.

As I said, just wanted to suggest this. The freezing is a pretty cool gimmick. #w{=D}

neat. the gfx look a little weird but it's still nice. you could do just a block shatter when you break out, no?

ninjid

Um I guess I could've gotten the star at the end.

Well OK, I admit the star in this video was not thaaat bad. It just delayed the actual gimmick a bit. It's more about some of your other videos, like the Ovular Movement video, where you show the same behaviour for a whole 5 minutes, or the Elite Goopa video, where you show the same attack lots of times (I counted 6 and then got too bored to continue watching). I wouldn't even bother about this if creating videos like that wouldn't always make me think that there's something new at the end of each video. That just never happens, though, and I'm just wasting my time seeing the same thing over and over again. But yar, the Ice Barrage video wasn't as bad as the previous ones. It just reminded me that I wanted to suggest this to you for a while already.

Yea I know I've heard it before I just kinda forget after I get something working how I want it to. Also:

"I don't like shatter blocks, I was going to make my own animation or at least use yoshi's egg with exgfx"

The gfx for the ice balls are placeholders.
