If this isn't yours, maybe this should be in that Japanese hack discussion thread.

Had no clue that exists. I usually just check the news, contests, and ASM and related topics and nothing else.

That boss from Touhou looks like hard!!
Well, wasn't sure where to throw this, since it's also music, but I guess it's mostly ASM so:

Video.
That is an interesting idea HuFlungDu. Maybe someone can use this as some sort of code for a puzzle.

Still working on my campaign of my boss sprites, here is a video of none other than Hawkmouth from SMB2. Well he's now in SMW.

Hmmm... that sprite starts out waay too fast, I'd say. And...it'd be a little more interesting if it was coded like Phanto to trigger when said something is picked up (in other words, a player could see the sprite and then when said object is picked up, it comes to life and attacks), only it would keep going regardless. And is the animation really necessary? The original thing kept its mouth partly open.

And btw, its name is actually Birdface, according to a Nintendo Power guide of Super Mario Advance.

Ooh, a boss sprite campaign! Wonder what else you have planned...

Looks interesting, but as The Thunder said, the speed looks a bit faster than the original and i think i don't recall seeing the original one having animation. I guess those are the only things that's keeping it to not look close from it's SMB2 counterpart. Aside from that, keep up the good work i guess.

Speaking of SMB2, i'm also working on something SMB2 related. Not really something big or whatsoever just this tiny little stuff. Guess what.
Not bad, not bad...

Perhaps you could center the smoke cloud a bit more to Mario? Otherwise, it's pretty cool.
In the process of designing a new boss sprite that is somewhat reminiscient of Acro from KDL3.

Differences, I make him swim around the entire arena to make his movement quite erratic. He spawns hooks, skulls and small orcas like the original.

Acro

Dear God Ive being looking for an underwater boss!
Keep working on it, it looks and moves really well!
I like the 'random' movement, but the hitbox looks a bit off to me.

You are entirely right Leod. The hitbox is off. I never figured out how to code the hitbox for a 48X48 boss

If there isn't a clipping value for the size you want, then you have to code one yourself. For a sprite that always hurts you it's easy; simply check Mario's horizontal and vertical proximity to the sprite and hurt him if they are both less than 0.
I should get a new layout.

Probably won't, though.
Huh, that looks like an improvement over some of your previous works. If you are going to use it, I would suggest making the room more open; for example, make the row of blocks just past the top of the screen solid, and make the arena about two screens wide.

Also, didn't Koops release a 48x48 sprite interaction code last C3?
There was a signature here.

It's gone now.
Culex

Yeah, this will take a little to finish.. Ignore the Wavy HDMA, it's just the start of "Blizzard" (Blue's crystal attack).

Currently, only the dialogues are complete, I'll program the boss later, because some attacks are hard to do...
Wow, good luck with all that. Seriously...

Actually, the wavy HDMA is a nice effect.

Never finished, huh? Pity. That one had good potent.
