It's that time again.

Welcome to the 2nd 48hoSPC! Like last time, you will have 48 hours from approximately the time of this post to submit a SMW song following the round's theme.


You have two options:

a) Port a song from a video game or TV show released during or after the year 2000. Strive for compositional accuracy; don't remix it to the point of unrecognizability.

b) Pick a video game or TV show released during or after the year 2000. Compose a song that would fit right into that game or show if it was on a SNES. (lol nobody picked it)

  • Your song must work with the latest version of AddmusicK. #default / #optimized are not required, nor are global songs or SFX, as long as the song fits.
  • Submissions should be in ZIP, RAR or 7Z archives. Your submission must contain your MML file, the generated SPC, and all samples used. Submission links should all be posted in this thread before the deadline.
  • You MUST indicate in your post which option you have chosen and the details of your song. For option A, this means game/show name and song title; for option B, just the game/show name.
Breaking any rules will lead to disqualification.

The system last time was dumb. Songs this time will be rated using one of the following scales by Secret Judges:

Option A:

Accuracy: /10
Quality: /20

Total: /30

Option B:

Theme adherence: /10
Quality: /20

Total: /30

Quality is, in essence, "does it sound good", arguably the most important part of a musical piece. Effort will be considered here as well--a technically well-done but very simplistic song will not likely get full points here.
a) Accuracy is pretty straightforward--the fact that this is SNES will absolutely be taken into account. Don't think you have to use the Best of the Best High Quality Samples to score highly here.
b) Theme adherence is also fairly straightforward. This will be judged based on how well you replicate the style of the chosen source. Again, this is SNES, and we know that perfect pastiche is near impossible, so this category will be taken equally as leniently as Accuracy.

AddMusicK 1.1.0 BETA (-m, delete global/local songs)
This source code contains two new programs I developed: MetaMusicK and BRRAutoTune (both hacky and rushed).

This is the port I announced 2.5+ years ago. MMK is also 2.5 years old with some extra hacks bolted on. BRRAutoTune ( is based on my SMW Remastered project.
