Well I'm both a Nintendo and PlayStation guy, so I have 2 choices.
Nintendo: SNES
PS1

Iiiit's time for Tube News.
The Wii U only because it has a ton of functionality, can play games across many generations and Smash 4.

The Switch is looking to turn into my new favorite console, though. The potential is huge. We'll see after this years e3.
PC-98 because PC MASTER RACE good games.

I agree with this.
But TBH the N64 was certainly the best, I mean, there were a TON of good games for it! How could you NOT like this system?

Also SNES is great too.

the n64 has like barely any 3rd party games
gamecube, definitely. But only because i had one as a kid lol, most of my fav games/gaming experiences were on that console
most okayest
SNES is #1, gameboy is #2.

Even if you consider the gameboy color a separate system, the gameboy had a huge library of classics since it was around for nearly a decade. Personally I think we roll out new hardware on consoles too frequently.
Game Boy Advance, because it has the best average quality of games.

Yeah, that's me. You're probably wondering how I got into this situation...

SNES, the console of my childhood, definitely. Most of my favorite games are from that console

Honorable mention to Wii, that also have great games

I kind of object, GBA had a lot of lower-quality remakes than good games tbh (see: super Mario advance 2)

tho mother 3 was great

Cross-generation functionality aside, I'd say the SNES has one of the strongest libraries of any console. Really good variety and some of the best games of the era.

HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA Mod edit: my tables please

i dunno. snes is the one i've done the most digging through and i never really found anything that i have a lasting appreciation for, aside from yoshi's island which is just one of the best platformers ever made

wii u has some decent games but not a whole lot of them are singleplayer, which is a struggle when none of your friends have any free time. sm3dw and yoshi's wooly world were both decent and i'm kinda obsessed with smash but it's not really enough to make me call it my "favorite" console.

i have nostalgic connections to the gamecube and wii but i don't think i'll be revisiting them anytime soon, so i don't think i have a favorite console. at least right now
I have lots of nostalgia towards the SNES, and what Derpy said is pretty much true. However, if I don't take nostalgia into consideration then I guess my favorite console would be the 3DS, since it combines the already great library of the DS with the 3DS's, which is also pretty good. Also, portable console.
We'll be like diamond: brilliant and persistent. ~
you can't spell snes without 66.6% of the letters in my username so that one

My favorite console is really SFC/SNES.
I like it a lot. And this thing lasted for
fucking
ages (only in Japan though), so it has a lot of games.

But it's not my only favorite console.

There's also the Sega Saturn, Dreamcast, N64, Game Boy Color, Nintendo DS, Neo Geo, 3DS, Nintendo Game Cube, Game Gear, Nintendo Switch (yeah, already).

I consider any console with tons of games I like a "favorite", even if I don't really have the console.

Huh. I can hardly think of any Game Boy games except for the Mario, Donkey Kong, Zelda, and Mega Man ones, plus Lufia 3 (which I think was a GBC game anyway).

Anyway, easily the SNES for me. No other console comes close to having that many games on it that I like. Second place would be the DS, and that honestly has more variety than the SNES when it comes to actually good games if you ask me.

pokémon gens 1&2 + tcg1&2, tetris, ff legend 1-3, ff adventure, kid dracula, kirby's dream land 1&2, gargoyle's quest, shantae, wario land 1-3, metal gear ghost babel (just metal gear solid in the west), dragon warrior monsters 1&2
1. GameBoy Advance. I have so many good memories of it that it's not even funny anymore. I still play on this thing daily for stuff like Pokémon, SMA2 (NO WAY that it is lower quality) and similar games. Those games are still close to my heart.
2. 3DS. It's probably the handheld I played the most on. There are so many good games for it and the things you can do it make it worthwile to still get it because it is still relevant for at least the coming year.
3. Wii U. Even with it's flaws, it was still a fun console to use. The GamePad may have been slightly thumped by the Switch, but in 2012 it was rad, and personally I always played the games on the 'Pad only because it was so convenient. The games itself were of good quality too, even when it didn't sell well.

Either the Gamecube or the Nintendo 64. Most of my young video game memories came from the N64 since it was the first console my family actually owned when I was a child—despite the Gamecube already being out by then. A few years later we got the Gamecube, and I think that's the console I spent the most hours on in total. Melee and NightFire being easy favorites for me.

Yeah, Pokemon was the first thing I was going to mention, and Tetris second.

If you ask someone my age if and where they played tetris, you've got very good odds they played it and on the gameboy.
Either the PS1 or original Xbox. So many lovely memories.
