List of Hacks

I like Mario World hacks and I like lists.
So I was wondering, is there a list of every Mario Hack ever released? I'm pretty sure there isn't because I spent a long time searching for one.
So... would it be feasable to create one? I realize it would be a pretty big task to list every Mario hack in existance but if enough people contributed I'm sure a list could be created and maintained.
I actually wouldn't mind trying to make a list but if I did attempt to would anyone be willing to help?
It could include all the basic information about a hack... release date, version number, author ect.

So what do you think, could it be possible?
Nope. For example, what about all the demos. And of course let's not forget ones that will never be released, like my single block hack. (I just lack motivation and patience) Still, it might be possible to do all the others. It would just be this site only with the bad hacks as well.
You could list demos and unfinished hacks as well, they would just be marked as demos or unfinished. When a demo is updated the list would be updated as well. Not so sure about unreleased hacks... but if they are unreleased, do they really need to be listed?
I think it would be just like the hacks section of this site + bad hacks... but I have seen quite a few decent hacks that you can't find on this site.
Zophar's Domain has a lot that SMWC doesn't. The two lists togther account for pretty much everything.
Well in terms of SMW Hacks that is a good question. While this is the Capital, or one of the capitals, of the SMW Hacking Community there are a lot of SMW hacks that reside on ROM sites and are found nowhere else(not even on Zophar's Domain, including the Kaizo Mario series which used to be on ROMHacking.net). I actually remember running into some nice long lists of hacks like Yellow Mario Bros. and other ones. Another good place to check is where Japanese hackers like KT link to, including a site with one SMW hack called Time Mario.

I hate to sound obsessive but I tried to find every single site that had a SMW hack(Simple AOL Search Results for SMW Hacks) because I am storing everything that I can download. BTW, Do you have Bittorrent? That is also good as that can lead you to a site that has a torrent of 277+ SMW Hacks.

As to the bad hacks, perhaps nobody has heard of a great hack called Super Veggie World or something where the Mario characters are vegetables? That is a great hack but cannot be found on here. I don't even think that the original site that had the hack exists anymore. It is hard but it is also very fun along with the multicolored coins and the beautiful graphics. There are great hacks not on here, you just gotta type SMW Hacks on a search engine and try to find all of the sites.
I am not a hacker by trade, I am an observer and I can be very observant. I tend to lurk around here to prolong the good experience of playing the original SMW. Whatever can add onto it is something that I will definitely do when I am bored which is often. And I will rarely post and give praise when needed to the hacks that may make me interested to relive memories.

My worst enemy in Mario isn't Bowser but my controller that keeps on getting disconnected from the inside. Might be my memory count.
Mericles, thanks for the info, just found the torrent you mentioned. Very useful.

I'm going to start a list, obviously it'll take quite a long time to build up an exhaustive list of all or most SMW hacks but I think its deffinatly worth the effort.

I'm gonna need a bit of help though, if anyone could contribute that would be a real help. Just contact me with names and details of EVERY hack you know about, my contact details are on my profile. With enough work I think this could be a really useful resource for anyone who enjoys SMW hacks.

Very good idea Auroreon(BTW, if you can answer many of my questions about Bittorent that would be great. I tried downloading the Torrent before, but I don't even know what is going on with it). I am a list man, myself, OCD at making lists. I would love to see a list of SMW Hacks altogether, besides the ones that pass the test and end up on here.

(In fact I did make a list before with all of the hacks I can find on the old board, or at least hack ideas should I try to search for them. This is on a Wordpad document that I created. It could possibly help, plus IPSes for all of them. I do have, for example, the whole database of SMW Hacks one day before the update came that Arby, a script kiddie, trashed the database)

What I would also give is where to find the hacks. There is one hack that does puzzle me on where to find it, Bowser's Final Kidnap. I think it was Ghettoyouth and I that were interested as to how and where to find it)

Here is another idea: A requests list for SMW Hacks that cannot easily be found. Gaming World has a Rare Project Sites and Games list, mostly from RPG Maker. Some of the hacks from Youtube would be on there.

I hope that these ideas can help for the educational library that you should create Auroreon. I will start off by mentioning the two Kaizo Mario games.

I don't think it would ever be possible simply because their are so many different sites that have hacks and so many hacks outside smwcentral are pretty much unknown, except for the evil ones that people like protonjon, azura, and tatsudoshi play. It would be pretty hard to form an online data base of every single hack demo, beta and completetion.
I wish, but there are so many hacks out there. Almost everyone on this site (including me) has a new hack. If there was a list it would probably be on the front page of this site

ask a guy named "3nable". he was the one who made the Bowser's Final Kidnap hack. it's too bad he didn't uploaded a copy of his hack at this site. you may also want to try contacting the guy who made the Youtube video playing some levels of the hack.
In response to Erpster's post on here:

Ah, I haven't checked the comments section of the Youtube videos in a while(sometimes I do if it is a game or hack that I cannot find anywhere but on the video). I do know that Ghettoyouth tried to ask the Host that presented the videos, for the hack but there was no answer, and now I know why. I will try to obtain it.

Thanks. Now I will uncover one of the few SMW Hacks that I cannot get.

Hey Mericles.

It was actually a guy named AppleCore who made the Bowser's Final Kidnap hack a long time ago. I'm now playing a game based on his old hack called Kaos Islands which used to be posted here at SMW Central but was taken down and is working on fixing some problems with his Kaos Islands hack.

Read about the Kaos Islands hack here:

perhaps you can ask AppleCore about the old Bowser's Final Kidnap hack he made more than a year ago.
