Tip: If your level contains elements that temporarily change the music to a global song (such as a P-Switch or a Star), that music will not stop playing after the intended end time if the music bypass setting is set to 00.
Well, what ran through your head when making your level? Was is something amazing, crap, or in between?
For me, i had battletoads running through my mind so thats where my spike hell came fromHi, I'm a signature! Hack Thread Hack Testing Status: Available. Layout by Koopster.
My original idea was actually to have a temple based off bowsers bowling balls before I realized that the balls in cool or cruel Gnarly were custom sprites and the actual bowling balls were stupidly hard coded. I got my idea for the gimmick when awhile ago in a chat Lazy was like "yo check out steep slopes they do some weird shit" and I tried carrot platforms and I eventually thought of a bunch of setups for that and then hooray level!!

I just wanted to create a breather level with as few custom stuff (i.e. no ExGFX, no Map16, no custom palette, not even custom music) as possible.
Why specifically one based of Lake Constance? Probably because of the Swiss meme theme (though I would say that it played more in the "German" part of the lake).
Level 8-6 in New Super Mario Bros. Wii (that one vertical volcano level where the lava is rising). I tried a few different things to see what worked, and eventually I had the mechanic for the level.
My original idea was to create a castle level as I did multiple times before (or even a ghost house), but then Eevee had the idea of creating a level based on Star Wars.
It was more his idea than mine, anyway. And then progress resumed from there. Pretty fun to work on.
Was messing around with cutoff lava, Blarggs and stuff like that, then I thought "hey I could totally make a thing with this". Unfortunately I killed most of the cutoff halfway through, rip
I was inspired by a particular unreleased jump 1/2 level, and so I did a different take on it once I realized the underwater physics glitch can be done in vanilla.
I guess my level was kind of inspired by New Donk City (the city in that new Super Mario Odyssey game, you might have heard of it). I ended up branching off from it and made my own aesthetics unrelated to the inspiration, but the idea of making a city level and my level name (NEW FUNK CITY) came from that initial idea.
I wanted to make a cave with bioluminescent enemies. The glowing moss and crystals were suggested by FPzero since he thought they'd look cool with a palette exanimation glow.
EDIT: I also wanted to try making a level without digging Chucks and line guides and WHOOPS
