Mario90's first ever C3 Thread - The Ultimate Screen Teleporter - Updated

I literally had nothing planned for this. I just saw the big countdown on C3 and thought: "Yeah, that's a thing, guess I'll submit something".

Well here's what I got, something I just finished for my own hack - The Ultimate Screen Teleporter! Combined with MarioFanGamer's patch this allows exiting via falling, touching the screen sides or jumping off the top of the screen. imamelia happened to make one for side exits, but I literally had no idea it existed, and this more is more featured anyway, and doesn't rely on using $1B96 everywhere you need it.

Provided you mark the level in the patch's table to enable it, this will automatically detect if there is a screen exit on the screen, and for side exits if its screen 0 or the last one in your level it'll allow you to walk off like in Yoshi's Island and warp to another level. It also works for vertical levels, but its slightly different. Falling is just the same as it was in MFG's original patch. No more need for teleport blocks at the edge of the screen. More details in the readme. Let me know if there's any issues or bugs to fix and I'll submit this to the patches section later.

Edit: Updated the patch, makes certain options easier to enable, added warping from the top of the screen so you can now use screen exits from any direction.
This seems quite nice. I don't know how much of this was coded from scratch by you, but it can certainly be useful in exploration-type hacks.

Just out of curiosity: would be possible to also make a "walking into screen" animation for Mario as an addition to the "walking out of screen"?

Almost everything after this line in the patch: "Start of side screen exit code" is done by me. All that's directly copied is MFG's part of the patch and its really only there for convenience. I figured I might as well code the rest and have it all combined into one patch for ease of use. I actually just coded the patch the day C3 started. This version is also a super cleaned up one compared to the one I'm using personally. I have so much more going on there. But I figured the base concept would be useful for a lot of people so it'd be worth submitting.

As for your question putting Mario at the edge of the screen and using the pipe exit animations for entering the level through LM should be good enough for that, unless you mean something else.
Do you plan to submit it to the patches section? If so then you can use the update feature or put into the moderation notes so my patch gets deleted once your patch is accepted.
The reason is obvious: You have included my patch in yours and expanded it. Mine will be as such and obviously obsolete.
This and sa-1 compatible shell collected dragon/coins is the best release so far.

Yeah, as I said in the OP I'll submit it to the patches section later, when C3 ends to be exact. Just waiting for some feedback or reports on anything wrong with it first. I was also going to ask if imamelia's should be replaced as well. I'm not sure if it would serve a purpose after releasing this either.
Mine actually covers falling off the bottom of the screen as well, though it doesn't handle jumping off the top. I did have one level in a hack where you could go off the top of the screen to find a bonus room, though.
