Final Boss

MarioFangamer proposed an idea for the final boss of the hack and volunteered to code it. I'm making this thread to continue the discussion of this boss. These are some ideas that were discussed in the discord server:

-The boss will be similar to the Willy boss here, as it will have different phases showcasing different screens and a "refrain" phase between each screen phase.
-MFG suggested the boss should have 16 phases (8 refrain phases and 8 screen phases).
-Each screen would be designed by a different person, like in regular levels.
-This would be a boss-only level ala DKC series.

This is what still needs to be decided:

-Boss appearence and size
-Boss attacks (would probably change between phases)
-Boss HP and way how to damage it (same)
-Screen themes
Since the hack won't have any solid plot, I'd suggest to the boss to be literally a Screen (or something like that) A characterization would be good, but I don't have ideas for that right now.

For the attacks and the way to damage the boss, that should be determined by the screen itself where the boss and Mario are (according to the theme of the screen), or just varying arround them (like, on first screen with shells, on the second jumping on the boss and so)

As for the themes we could use the typical ones like grassland, ice, water, etc, but we could also reference the hack's levels themselves like the ON/OFF castle or the Megaman level.
I actually had slightly different ideas for the boss. In fact, this thread was created without asking my permission (though it's still not the main thread).

For clarification: My plan was to make the screens phases actually claimable just like you can claim screens for the levels. The only difference is that
a) the theme is not given which means it's you who give them a theme and
b) there also are rules on how you claim the screen phases.
This also means, yes, the claimer, but not others, also gives ideas on how to damage the boss. HP also are handled similarily.

Also, you have no power on how I design the refrain phases. All I won't do is to have the ideas for the screen phases but I still have the power to code it.
At least, if the claimer is a non-ASMer. ASMers can make a phase themselves, though they might need to PM me first for details.

The only things on how I and Najeraldo had the same thought for the Final Boss is the appearance.

I will open a thread for the boss once I have got the base.

Okay, my layout looks ugly.

I don't need to ask permission to make a thread in my own collab's forum #ab{-_-}

I'm fine with everything else you said, but you should let people give ideas for the refrain phases.

About the appearance, my idea was to make it humanoid but with a screen for a head, however, a giant screen as Ninetales suggested is fine as well and it might be easier to work with.

It's much less about making the thread and more about the announcement. Like, it's better to have everything cleared else before misunderstandings happen.

I don't think, that would go very well. As I wrote, the refrain phases are supposed to be very similar which also means, users haven't got much freedom there anyway since they only could suggest attack patterns which is certainly much less interesting than suggesting ideas for an phase.

Yes, but this is a collab, so if someone wants to suggest an idea, they should be allowed to. This doesn't mean you have to follow every idea you're given.
I also was thinking that this thread was a bit precipitate, considering that we still aim to open a few levels more (and finishing the current ones) and the minor discussion on the discord server (unless I've missed part of the discussion or if it was via PM) but since we are here it's not bad to begin to discuss.

About the refrain phases it would be good to people suggest ideas for, but I honestly don't think those are going to have a very bigger impact on the boss than the screens and the attacks (I can't say so much about this though, because I barely know about ASM and don't know how are MFG's intentions in terms of coding)
