He will attack you by using an evil fire or ice flower, then cover himself in spikes and charge at you, getting stunned. That's your opportunity to hit him from below. Try to somehow hit him before and... you'll see (he's supposed to damage you but welp that's because...)

WARNING: This update was... kinda rushed so there's some minor things left to do like SFXs during the battle. This also resulted in the victory theme for the boss being cut, so a version of SMW's original one will play. Volume is louder since 8-bit samples volume tends to be between $00-$16 while SMW's are louder so be careful.

This looks so dope, love how simple the boss looks
Whoa, this is amazing. I love that Yoshi Island boss cutscene.

I also like the fact that the time is paused while the player is in the boss cutscene. Keep it up!

C3 it's going to start soon and I will be preparing things like a decent title screen and overworld, and end every detail missing in 1-F's boss. If you have played the hack and found a bug or oddity, report it so I can fix it before C3's demo.

Wow. What a hack! This is amazing. Its remind me of games like Bloodstained, Shovel Knight, Blaster Master Zero. This should nintendo do too. Make a classic mario game in 8 bit style. A new one. But you do that job for them. So this looks so amazing.

I played the demo and I loved the heck out of it! I love how it feels just like a classic Mario game, but with a modern twist! I am especially impressed by the fact that you got NES sound effects... I've been waiting to see someone pull that off in a hack and you finally did it!


I'm really looking forward to the final hack!

Featuring the Raccoon leaf, an original enemy called Bad Buddle, who will try to push the player away, and Boost Platforms by Mandew. Credit to him. GFX by Gamma V (L1 and L3) and me (L4). (L2 comes from SMB2)

Also if you haven't noticed, I've redesigned some GFX to make the hack's visuals more appealing, these are (crediting their autors in the "History.txt" file):
-Coins
-Brick blocks
-Question blocks (applied to Nocolpire block as well)
-Used/brown blocks (applied to Nocolpire block as well)
-Koopa Troopas

SRM with every level up to 1-5 completed (for SNES9X 1.54)

It would be too hard to find colors in the limited NES palette for the BG that could meet the conditions you're saying. The two green-blue colors (excluding the light beam) used are the only ones that, at least for my personal liking, are decent (but not perfect) and I couldn't find another pair. (i think some NES games suffered from the same problem and had to use shades with different colors)

btw if you're curious, this is the NES palette I'm using.

I forgot to talk about the demo I tried. It was good, I liked it. The overworld was really cool, it was very polished, not much else I can add to that I think.
