Is it a good idea to make a SMW Hack on Super Mario Odyssey?

Title says all.

I'm just going to be asking a few questions here. Is it easy, (or hard), to do a SMW Hack of Super Mario Odyssey? Are there any new custom blocks, patches, sprites, and/or tools by doing this?

What do you guys think? Would it be a good idea to make a SMW hack on Super Mario Odyssey? #tb{:?}

Just curious...
Personally, I would say it would be difficult, but I can't speak on behalf of the ASM community / experts because I'm no good with ASM myself.

Like Sokobansolver mentioned, LX5 has made a thread on a Super Mario Odyssey SMW Hack. It involves the hat mechanic where Mario can possess almost any sprite. Is this difficult to pull off? Sure, if you don't have the right amount of ASM knowledge.

But to answer your question, if LX5 was able to pull off the hat mechanic, I would assume that a Super Mario Odyssey SMW Hack would be possible to create but I don't think anyone would go too in depth in replicating the actual game.
