Placing Checkpoints

Good time of day you're reading this,

I've run into a noobish issue. I can't find where the checkpoint tape sprite is so I can have a checkpoint in my stage. I'm currently editing stage 105 and have a blank playing field to work with, so copying and pasting won't work. I've checked both "Add sprites" and "Add objects", despite figuring it wouldn't be an object. I've looked around the tutorials and didn't see anything on it either.

So... how do I add checkpoints to my stage?

Open the Add Objects window and click "Extended Objects" from the dropdown menu, the midway tape should be listed there as #46.
Or you can click "Direct Map16 Access" instead and the tape will be at tile 38.

Don't do this, at least for the midway point. Direct Map16 tiles are handled a bit differently than objects are. While it's fine for most blocks, any tiles that are supposed to be created differently under certain conditions won't work correctly (in this case, inserting the midway point through direct Map16 will cause it to still reappear when you die and reenter, meaning you can grab it again; the object will not reappear).

Thanks! Going into the Extended Objects menu helped.
