We currently have 6 finished levels in the hack and 4 in progress, making 10 levels total. The original plan was to make 15 levels, but I don't think we will be able to pull off that much since less people are working in this hack than when it started. At this point, I think we'd be better off not opening any new levels other than the final boss and maybe a separate final level.

That said, there are other things that need to be discussed and done before we can finish this:

Level names

There has been some discussion about this, but nothing has been decided. The current names are things like "level 105" or "the castle". So far suggestions have been to name the levels after their theme, their number in Lunar Magic or give them secuencial numbers (Level 1, Level 2, etc.)

We can either go with any of these 3, give them proper names or do something else entirely if new suggestions come up.

The current overworld is obviously a placeholder and needs to be replaced with a proper one, but before we do, we need to decide if the levels will be revealed in sequence or open from the begining (ala VLDC), and if they are sequenced, what will be the order.

After that, we need to decide the number of submaps, what they will look like and then we can start designing it.

Title screen

Here we have two options; we can either go classic and use a level from the hack or use a static image. If we go for a level, I say it should be 105 because it was the level that started the collab.

Intro level

The current intro message is a joke and was not meant to be final, although I have no problem on keeping if that’s how you want it. The intro level needs to be changed though, we could use level 105, but it might get repetitive if we also use it for the title screen, another option would be to let someone make it as if it was a level screen.

All screen designers will be credited for their screens in a folder containing screenshots of the levels with their name over their screen. Other contributors (direct or indirect) will be credited in a readme file. However, what I want to discuss here are in-game credits.

We can either use the original credit sequence or make a new one. If we use the original all the screen designers names will be listed together since we won't have enough space to credit every single screen individually. If we use a custom one we can do more stuff, any suggestions?

This is everything I can think of so far, but maybe we can add more things. Is there anything you'd like to see in the hack? Or do you think I missed something important?
Oh hey, I'm one of the people that appeared during the beginning of the project and then vanished from existence (sorry). I really need to stop being lazy and design a screen already.

Having levels be available from the beginning sounds better in my opinion, since the difficulty of (and in) each level can vary quite a bit and doesn't really follow an exact order. Dunno about the submaps, really.

I like the sequential numbers, maybe like "Level 1 - Overworld", "Level 2 - Underground", like a mix of both.

I vote level 105 for the Title Screen.

Custom credits sequence sounds nice, but I literally have no ideas for it.
I think we must have a special-like overworld, as every level has a different theme, and preferably revealed in sequence so it's guaranted every level is played. We must decide the order based on Najeraldo's feedback on every level.

About the title screen, yes, we should use level 105. The intro level screen must be changed, but I think the message is ok (although it was supposed to be a joke many people approved it, and since this hack doesn't have plot it fits enough)

Finally, vanilla credits are enough. However, doing a credits sequence ala SMB3 would be nice (instead of every world, a sequence with a part of every level and every person who did a screen on it) Don't know if doing this could be difficult though.

There was some discussion about the level names going on in the server, these are the current names:

03: SMB3 in a Nutshell
09: Gimmick Grotto
105: Where it all Began!
106: Woods 'n' Clouds
107: Fort of 27 Screens
108: Ow my Back Mountain
109: What's up Bro!?
10A: Game ON, Blocks OFF
10B: A Real Fake Mansion
10C: MM2 War Flashbacks!

I also think having sequenced levels would be better. For the overworld I was going to say can use all 6 submaps, have 2 levels per submap and use the last one for the final boss, but I don't think we can make the MM2 level fit in a smw submap without clashing. Something like the special world would be better, but it still needs to have more decoration.

I'll start working on the title screen soon(tm).
