Original Kaizo Mario 1 2 and 3; Only 5 lives? :(

I saw Dode post a YouTube Video last year of an English version of Kaizo Mario.. i have tried finding it but can't find it anywhere. I just want more than 5 lives unlike the original offered lol, i'm trying to get into the romhack scene.. but 5 lives doesn't offer any error, and i don't want to savestate around every corner.. i wanna learn from my deaths and keep playing, not restart the game every time i die 5 times in a row lol. i could just patch it with inf. lives, but i did that, and added a retry system to a different hack.. and it ended up moving some sprites in the level, so i didn't try that on any other romhacks because i don't want to mess up any tricks and make the game to where it can't be completed. Does anyone know where to find versions of the games like Dode played in his Kaizo Mario World 1,2,3 Super Dram World.. mega speedrun video, or how to patch it without messing up sprite locations? Not sure why the asm patch even messed up the sprites.. was i suppose to ASM patch it, then patch the game onto the original SMW? because i patched the game, then the ASMs when i tried. Not really worried about an English version honestly, although it'd be nice, i just want more than 5 lives

Kaizo is not honestly, the best start for playing rom-hacks, unless you want to get yourself into some pain.

As for the 5 lives, just use savestates or something, if you want to go without savestates however, can't save you the pain that you will endure.

i found english translations of kaizo 1 2 and 3 and got them working, i also applied the same Death counter used in Grand Poo World.. but after i die 5 times i get a gameover how do i fix that?


i don't want to savestate a lot, i wanna try enduring the pain like the streamers do lol. so now i'm stuck finding out how to fix the 5 lives thing. i also forgot how i set up the death counter, so i'm not sure how to go about patching the gameover screen or applying inf. lives so.. i'm stuck.

Thanks man, it worked. Wasn't sure if I should add it to the death counter. Asm or the table I used to add more bytes or whatever
I just ended up making a brand new text file and it worked just fine
