Do you listen to music while ROM hacking? If so, what do you listen to?

For me, I tend to make my levels inspired by areas from other games. So say for instance, if my level is inspired by Toad Town, I'll have Toad Town music playing, to get me in that feel while making it.

And if not, then I'll probably be listening to Michael Jackson lol

So what about you? What music do you listen to while ROM hacking?

Three types of music:
70% of the time : SPC's related to the level or hack that I'm working on.
20% of the time : "Alternative-Rock" bands like TheBirthdayMassacre or RED.
10% of the time : Visual Novel music.
Sometimes I listen to music (anything, really), but I also enjoy listening to podcasts in the background.

I listen to music while engaging in certain activities, but ROM hacking is not one of them. I only play music to make whatever activity I'm engaging in less boring, but hacking is exciting enough that I don't need music.

If I'm working on a project for a client, I might listen to some music from TheFatRat, maybe a 10-hour version of some song(s) from the DKC2 soundtrack, possibly a 10-hour version of Actual Cannibal Shia Labeouf, maybe even play in the background old Let's Plays of SMW ROM hacks from ProtonJonSA, AzureBlade49, or IcranGirl.
I generally listen to the custom music I'm using for my hack, or other miscellaneous SPCs stored on my PC. I'll also pull out music on my phone sometimes, which just so happens to be video game music as well.

...I suppose it wouldn't hurt to listen to actual songs while hacking once in a while.
What is a Lunar Magic, and can I eat it?

This, but only sporadically.
This. Just this.
Expect little to nothing from me for now.

Player graphics are the only thing I do right, so come tell me to make one you want.

porn. usually.
umm... can i help you!?

I'd usually be listening to an SPC that is related to level I am working on.

Other times, I'd mostly be listening music from Rosenkreuzstilette or Touhou.

You must have some repressed sexual issues there, dude.

Also no, I dont really listen to music when I hack SMW for creativity. If I do listen when I hack SMW, its because Im considering which song to use in my hack.
On Pixel Art Requests: I generally do not accept work unless I either have the time, if I see your project worth my time to contribute towards, and that is usually me doing the approaching to you on that.
-I also do not accept speculative work as I do have various art I made on-hand with me.
-I am more receptive to equivalent exchange of resources in which case, you can DM me wherever I have an active presence on for the details.
-Other times I'm availible for your project is C3 request threads I may run.

Been really into witch house lately.
I usually listen to whatever song is fitting and relative to the level I work on, but in other cases it's usually Donkey Kong Country 1-3 or Xenoblade Chronicles OST.

STELLA!
Progressive, noise, and anime songs. Really loosens up the brain and helps with the creative process as a whole, anybody who goes into romhacking silent and raw should try it imo.
shirt status: not on
Kirby music

But lately, I've been hooked on Kero Blaster music too.
And Sonic

lots of stuff lol

...One time, I was listening to somebody saying BEW-PAAIII on repeat for a few hours, I learned the meaning of life in exchange for my sanity.
One thing Sonic does seem to get right is music.

^A thousand times this. I for one, find many of their music memorable because it emphasizes the thrill and coolness the Sonic cast (the games outside of 2D usually being mediocre except for Heroes, Unleashed, and Generations).

Ex - Open Your Heart, Live and Learn, Knight of the Wind, Throw it All Away, to list a few songs... ill admit, I do listen to them lately because Id like to use em for my works.

Just Vaporwave, only Vaporwave, forever Vaporwave.
Super Mario Travelers

I listen to whatever, pretty much. The only specific answer I have is that I sometimes listen to the music which inspired my hack in the first place, so that I remain focused on what it is all about.

What I listen to:

Nah, but seriously, I sometimes listen to podcasts or YouTube videos. Other times, I just listen to the natural ambiance of birds chirping and cars driving down my street :)
