Maybe you could make that island as plain as the others without that cliff. I also suggest to change a bit of the palette so it doesn't remind people of the original Yoshi's Island map, and also, decorate a bit more the OW and it would look better.

Thanks Broozer. I think I'll make all three of those changes ^^.

Thanks.
Mega Mario:
Looks extremely nice Anonimato, I love the look of everything there. I especially love your "Reflection" Effect in the water. Keep up the awesome work! I'll be sure to play your hack in the future.

And now, for an update on my own. It's time for old vs. new yet again!

Really Old (May/Early June 2008)

Vs.

Old (Late June 2008/Early July 2008)

Vs.

New (Early August 2008)

This is mainly a shading update. Ignore the lack of pipes and/or bars, the pipes will return, I'm just figuring out how to shade them to match my new shading style for the levels. The Bars will not overlap Mario as they did in the past. Now, there will be a BG with walls and bars in it. I haven't made it yet, though. I will soon, though. The reason for this is because I received a lot of complaints about the bars, so I removed them.

But hey, how's my new shading?
It's getting lots better, sunrider. I like it.
Now a level of my own.
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/-hCP8wBL-KQ&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/-hCP8wBL-KQ&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
Newest level.
Ignore things such as the bouncing "?" block sprite & the Fire Flower.
Also, I ripped the BG myself. ^_^
<TLMB> I use YY-CHR to edit DNA
Damnit, I really wait 'till I can get back to level designing. -_-
I know, i´m working on a level for the contest but I mean for a real hack. I just have to insert the no sprite tile limit code (wich is quite hard for me because I suck at that). And some more I guess.

Anyways, looks good cars4carpeople, you are good at level design. But, you should make make your own sement blocks, people don´t really like these. And something is bugging me about the ? blocks (no, not thee bounce sprite). Something is making them look wierd.
I don't like the ?-blocks either. These could drive me crazy. It's the animation I guess.

I also think they're a bit weird. The level itself looks quite good, but as Mattan said those grey cement blocks in the end of the level are a bit ugly. Try putting regular ground tiles instead.

@Daaa77: The shading looks way better now! :)
As previously mentioned, I now have a video of my first You vs. Boo race. I'm pleased with how it turned out, and am satisfied that I was able to make it work. As you can see at the end of the video, this minigame is hosted by a familiar character...

Here's how the race works:
Before starting the race, you must bet 25 coins. The race is won by touching the Mario block at the end before the Boo reaches the Boo block. If you win, the coins you wagered are multiplied. For this one, your coins are doubled. The harder the race, the more your coins are multiplied when you win.

Here's the video:

Anyway, very nice level Cars. I don't know anything special to say though :/

EDIT: Looks awesome, Golden Yoshi! Did you use an eerie for the boo?

That minigame is absolutely awesome, Golden Yoshi! It's incredible how well you can turn a simple platform game into a RPG platformer. Can't wait for the first demo!

I've changed the curtains with bars (supposed to look a little steely but layer 3, of course, has limited shading).
Also, I've added a little shade on the FG, added bones in the ground on random places (I can't think of anything that'd fit better in sand) and I've added some variation in the flat ground, by making hills and cacti.

Things to do :
- Improve steel bars (maybe)
- Improve Layer 3 text (Pokey And Kolorado likely not, but C 2007, 2008 definitely)
- Use custom sprite graphics (can always be done, isn't necessary that much)

I love Titlescreens in that you can do nearly everything with them what you can't easily do in normal levels ; in fact, you can even use custom layer 3, which appears as the text and borders in SMW.

Ignore the yellow line/bar at the bottom, it doesn't appear in-game.
--------> Don't follow "Find Roy's Dignity", my hack. Because it's pretty outdated. <--------

Actually, I had to use the Electricity custom sprite. I did use the Eerie at first, but the problem with that was Eeries didn't interact with objects, even when checking off the "Don't Interact With Other Objects" in Tweaker. Because of that, the Eerie couldn't interact with the Boo Block at the end. So, I ended up using the Electricity sprite instead, since it can interact with objects. It's also better too because I can make multiple copies of the sprite and set different speeds for the Boo.
My very first rip! It's from a spritesheet on MFGG.net:

16.16 editor8x8 editorteh exgfx

So is it good enough to be submitted?
<-- this is the dope on dope
that looks pretty good for a first rip AnOObis.

Your layout has been removed.
Awesome, Dinomar! Did you base it off of something?
However, I think his eyes look a bit "stupid"...I can't explain it better.

I agree that he looks a bit stupid, but please don't change that. I totally love that. By looking at him I could laugh all the time because he looks so funny, so yeah... if you ask me you should keep it that way. I think it's awesome!

I also would like to add that I like the running animation (ok I can't see it animated but it's easy to figure what you're trying to do here.)
