Crap Layouts [.....boom] - Announcements

I know Boom just made one for the layouts with scrollbars, but there are other things that are starting to get on everyones nerves.

For example:

Player 1 has his post that only take up about 20% of his layout while the other 80% are announcements and other random crap.
Mattan has a layout that takes up the whole friggen screen for Pete sake ( I have no clue who Pete is, but anyways...)
Justin Case has just plain text in his footer.

I don't mean to make an example out of you three, because you aren't the only ones doing it. We have plenty of people just putting plain text and the headers and/or footers, and I'm sick and tired of reading though crap and I'm sure others are too.

For the next 3 days I'm be making a list on this thread for post layouts that need to be fixed immediately or the layouts will be nuked. Any posts that just have plain text in it and nothing else or waaaaaay to many images/userbars, etc. will be nuked immediately starting now.

Quite frankly, some layouts are irritating. It's funny to see posts that little content yet their signature is colossal. And what irritates me the most is layouts with tons of boxes, I really can't stand that.

Okay, I think you can remove my name from the Crap Layouts list... ~~It just have a plain text on my footer: A link to my hack and a yellow bold text saying that there are updates for it.~~ I've removed all things on my "layout".

Now hold on a second.

I know I have something on the right that shouts "Announcement box" but get real here. It takes less space than the post content, it's NOT A SIGNATURE (that's the small text below the sample post) and I have a box that contains a link, and another that tells people just what I am testing, have tested or plan to test. Also, the announcement box is to help out people.

And also, don't you dare call my layout crap when I took time to put most everything into a class.

Now, I know, five boxes, OH DEAR LORD, but it's not hurting anything is it?

I'll get to work on a recode, don't worry. I might not get it done until later, so hold your horses before you nuke it.

I can understand putting plain text in the header, but putting it in the footer should be a nukeable offense. It says in the profile editor that the footer is also known as the signature. Now, if someone wants a signature, that's where they have to put it. I see nothing wrong with it.

Wait....I'm confused.

So then....what's the footer for, if its not for what is usually is everywhere else?

And what's the stance on userbars? And what's an acceptable length?

Is this fine? I don't know.

I should of elaborated on that a bit more.

Text in the footer is fine if there isn't a whole paragraph in it. Justin Case was actually a bad example because he did have something there to distinguish between his post and his footer, but he could have at the least made it a different color so it doesn't blend in as much.

Gunblazer: the userbars are fine, just don't go overboard on them. 2-3 of them are fine. If you want more, you can always put them in your bio. Your layout is fine now.

I am glad though that these changes are being made. There are layouts out there that take up the whole page, ones with text above the post data, ones with seizure inducing animated signature gif's coughpieguy1372'scoughforumcough, and ones where the signature needs to lose 200px (height) and STILL be 3x as big as the post text. Good Riddance to Bad Rubbish.

EDIT: Lightvayne, those screenshots are too wide for my 1280 x 1024 LCD screen.

Or you could put the whole sig over the image, reducing size to half.

Still huge. Just taking out the userbars didn't cut it.
