The time has come again!

I present to you the second beta version 0.2 of Mario's on a New Adventure!

DOWNLOAD <-- definitely click it, yo

This version reworks a few design choices and makes some cosmetic improvements. Although the levels are the exact same, I'm sure you'll find this version to be markedly better than the last. But I'll be straight and say I made no major level design changes, as I am sticking to my guns on creativity here.

This time, feedback on gameplay would be MUCH appreciated.

But... due to the fact that the overwhelming majority of feedback on this hack has been negative, I'm weighing whether I even continue it at all beyond this... Who knows.
I will try it this week! Cause I'm a bit busy haha.
Thanks, bud.

I'm still deciding whether I keep this going or not.
Ultimately my love for this game has kept me going and I have continued making levels. So far, only two since the release of the two betas.

One is the green switch palace and it is much more gimmicky (and challenging!) than its predecessor. Can you guess what the gimmick is?

It truly is a challenging level. I didn't realize it until I did my final tests of it tool less once fully making it. I mean, I MADE the level, so I knew the best possible routes to take and it still took me awhile to test it legitimately. Yet, if you let it, it can still be enjoyable to play.
I'm entirely sure that this patch doesn't work, unlike the previous version. Are you sure you used the right ROM or selected the original one first and then the modified one?

There's some conditions that the original ROM should be applied to:
- Its version must be 1.0.
- It must be the American version.
- Its size should be 512/513 KB.
- It should be left unedited in Lunar Magic. Even adding a new object, removing it and saving the level to the ROM counts as a change, so you MUSTN'T do this with the unmodified ROM that's not a copy.
I have a Discord server as well! (by joining, you agree to the rules)

Basically, I believe in peace and bashing two bricks together.

God dammit, fixing it.

THIS TIME IT WORKS
Wasn't able to beat the yellow switch palace (can't solve a simple puzzle apparently) and ran out of lives on Iggy's Thwomp Fortress. Not the greatest player so it did provide some challenges. The intuitive level design did help.

Really appreciate the feedback, buddy! I'm glad you seemed to enjoy it!

Edit: Updated the patch yet again because I discovered an issue with Mario's entrance in one of the very last levels. Anyone that made it far enough likely found it.
Have almost completed World 2! It has a total of 8 levels including the switch palace!

Am unsure whether I will release another version to commemorate it. I likely won't unless there is popular demand for it which I somewhat doubt there will be.

I can already sense this game getting more difficult. Just as I sense my skills as a rom hacker improving. Interesting how they would coincide like that.
Below is the concept for the World 3 map! Feedback is appreciated!

It's looking ok, but you need to fix these perspective errors circled in red.

Improved:

Good, but still has perspective errors.

Okay where?
In the same places that i've circled before.

Any better?

Those cliffs are still the most glaring errors.
When you use a tile a the bottom of a cliff, you need to use the same tile at the top, just take the complete curve formation you use at the top, flip it once in the y and once in the x direction, change the palette and you have the correct tiles for both parts.
The tiles left to the left circle are also not perfect, so maybe change those as well.
But you are really close!

Real big thanks for the tip NGB! I had no idea that you could change the palette of the grass to edges to make it the same as the water!

More like this, maybe?
whoops my bad, sorry it's really late here...

just y flip it, forget the x flip #tb{XD}
Basically this

So I just flipped y and the one on the left seems weird.
