Am I actually the only person who would use Windows and computer-based tilesets?

I would totally use them! I like computers and electronics and that kind of stuff, and it would be awesome to have Mario adventure through a computer. And I'm lazy AF, so I'd never really want to draw Windows tilesets myself for use in hacks. I wish Windows tilesets got accepted. I also saw that tiles from ZSNES' user interface appeared in one hack. I really like that for some reason.
Tilesets from websites like YouTube, Reddit and even SMWCentral would be cool too.
And adding to the graphics-that-I-would-totally-use, why aren't there actually any Undertale GFX besides fonts?

I mean, it seems obvious enough to me that the reason there aren't any Windows tilesets that get accepted onto this site is simply for copyright reasons. Same goes for Youtube, and Reddit.

That's why more often than not you see custom stuff when people do levels and journeys through the digital world in Mario hacks.

Well then, wouldn't the hacks get removed for copyright reasons too? They use Microsoft assets, so they'd get removed just as the Windows tilesets would. It really doesn't make that much sense to me. There are plenty of nigh-useless tilesets that get approved, music too.
Edit: There are lots of GFX on here that use copyrighted assets and yet get approved.

That might be an issue to raise in the Site Questions, Feedback & Bugs forum? Maybe?

Copyright is not the reason that Windows tilesets are rejected. I'm the one who made the original Windows tilesets back in 2008, and the reason they were removed a few years later is simply "they're not useful enough". It's arguable, but that's the way it is.

I'm pretty sure user interfaces aren't copyrighted. (Which is why ReactOS can get away with looking like Windows.)

Don't know much about that, but at the very least, all of the actual graphics are copyrights/trademarks of the respective owners, and there's a lot of graphics in the UI (like for different application icons or even Windows itself), so if nothing else, at the very least those graphics would fall under some kind of protection. If we are talking just about the general layouts and color schemes, though, then yeah, I doubt those could be anyone's property.
Feel free to visit my website/blog - it's updated rarely, but it looks pretty cool!

Actually, I can think of plenty of ways they could be useful. And again, there are plenty of GFX that are way less useful that got approved.
