Hey,

i actually started hacking smw like 7 years ago and made some levels back then. Some weeks ago i found these old levels and i thought i should make a complete hack out of it. I'm actually not using most of the old levels, as i don't like them anymore #tb{:p}

The hack will have 8 normal worlds and a special world. Currently the levels of the first 2 worlds and the entire overworld a more or less done.

But here now some Pictures:

Yea, i'm still working on it. Currently working on levels of world 3 and some asm-stuff which is going to be later in the hack.

I think i forgot to mention, that i did port everything into a fresh rom so that i can use current tools, like AddmusicK and Pixi. At the moment i still don't know if i should port everything again so i can use SA-1 and Giepy..

Here's what i'm currently working on. It's the Mid Boss of world 3 - Doom's wall. As you may know it's originally from Secret of mana / Seiken Densetsu 2.

It will be similar to the one in brutal mario. It's actually built like the one carol made as the 2 eyes are on layer 2 and not sprite-tiles.

This one here is coded from scratch, this does not use any of carols code.

I've gotta say, I really dig the graphical changes to Mario. Is it the skin from SMB 2 or the Game Boy Advance Mario Bros?

It's from SMAS SMB2. You can find them in the Graphics Section.


Aside from that i don't have any new screenshots but a new video showcasing 2 mini-bosses:

First is Wall Face. Kinda simple boss, just dodge the magic the eyes shoot and wait for the center eye to open. It'l also shoot 1 magic at mario and disappears after that. Jump on the center eye when it's open to deal damage.

Second is Doom's Wall. Kinda similar to the other one. But the center eye shoots multiple fast magics around the room, instead of just one.

Both are originaly from secret of mana. Inspired by the one carol had in brutal mario, i coded these two. (As they share almost the same behavior it's actually 1 sprite using the extra bit)
I may increase the HP of them to 3 and change the arena for the final version.

No, i'm currently working on world 3 of 9.



Today i don't have much news to that hack, just a few things:

Here you can see the ghost house of world 2: (German commentary and the boss is actually the mini-boss of world 3)

Because of the release of Lunar Magic 3.0 i ported everything into a new rom. And because i was already on it i also added sa-1. Currently everything except for one sprite that'l get removed anyway is compatible with sa-1. Yay.

And to show something new, here's a picture of the ghost house in world 3:

(It's a vertical autoscroll level using layer 2. The platform mario is on moves from the top to bottom.)

Here's another small update. The level is actually in one of the few that i created like 7 years ago. It's going to be in world 7, to be specific it's 7-2. Because i don't realy know what i should do in the rest of world 3, i converted that level..
The tilesets i used back then doesn't fit the style of my current hack, so i changed it. I'm also going to change the level itself a bit, like the bosses and some other stuff.
The new BG also uses layer 3 to give it a bit more depth.

A bit of constructive criticism on the graphics for the mega spikes. Maybe you should make the golden points bigger because having so many of them makes the thing look oversaturated.
I changed the graphics of the spikes like LethalBrownies mentioned:


While porting the rest of 7-2 i had to convert a realy old sprite to pixi and add support for sa-1. It's a Giant Thwomp made by Sonikku. It still needs some work but it's in a working state for now:

As i still don't know what to do with level 3-6, i started the boss of world 3. It's Audrey aka Naval Piranha.
Currently it doesn't have any attacks or something like that, as I'm still working on the animations. Here's a gif sowing how it currently looks ingame:


As i wanted it to be non-dynamic i had to make the head 48x48 instead of 64x64.
I actually had to use 4 sprites and some animated layer 2 to produce the result in the gif.

I finally had some idead for 3-5 and 3-6, the last two normal levels of world 3:

3-5:
A level that has some moving logs and some piranha plants.


Second part of the level has these colored blocks and colored pipes with even more piranha plants


3-6:
This level is the first that uses LM3.0's big level feature. It's a cave with mushrooms in it. As it also has a secret exit, it's some kind of a maze.

I wonder how much you do it for your encouragement. Once upon a time, there was a rumor called Super Mario World, and when it's included in Yoshi Island, it's the same common sense.

This good graphics improvement is clean, but it's very important, and it's really great to see his big hackings.

If you want to be a hero as a top singer, you should try to be an award and do everything you can.

Oh, you wrote it on the staff of a very simple animation. I think it was used by Lunatic, but if you solve this riddle, you can make it simple, and if you're really great, you can do it.

I'm still a long way from here, but I'm going to try to make my dream come true until I finish working on "Egg Angel Cocomming Season 2" doing something very interesting than anything else in order to be born.

If I'm using Luna Magic, I want to use tools that I use when I believe in myself, and I want to get together and get along with each other times.#w{=)}
