Stephen Hillenburg, the creator of the most beloved (or hated) cartoon series Spongebob Squarepants died in November 26th due to AML (Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis).
Would Spongebob Squarepants be cancelled due to Stephen's death?
His passing cuts deep. I literally grew up watching Spongebob. The earlier seasons are some of my favorite things in the world.
He was taken way too soon... Fuck you ALS!
I really doubt it will be cancelled unless they run out of ideas, but it's not the same without him. He was the one that brought it to life and had so many ideas that weren't beaten into the ground before leaving the show.
Not to dismiss the dedication of the writers, of course.
Rest in peace Stephen Hillenburg. I hope you are at peace wherever you are.
