Why debate about this when you can just make the page display the original names instead?

That could work. It'd be a little hacky internally, but I see no reason not to do it.

Edit: Done.
Actually when we were debating it I guess we just assumed the event page would just show normal names. What we were really wondering about was whether it messed up voting.

Oh yeah, that was more of what I meant but I think I misread Koop's post a little bit. Thankfully the voting page isn't that big an issue.
Mosts is historically in November/December. Holiday names are obviously in December. A combination of wanting Mosts to last a little longer than normal plus having to wait a little bit for Telinc to finish the voting system meant that Mosts and holiday names intersecting was inevitable.
Mosts and holiday names intersection are already a common thing actually... VilelaBot had a special algorithm just to handle that and correct automatically in case someone voted to a non-colliding holiday name.

Speak of event times, I just realised there's not a deadline anywhere.

There is one on the event page. No idea why so few people have noticed it, it's linked in the first post.
Well, that's probably because there's a huge link that skips that page :P
Thanks.
Gotta appreciate Telinc for changing the site's coding to show original names instead of display names. Figuring out who is who is getting increasingly more difficult to do as display names get more complex. #smrpg{<3}

p much all contests have deadlines directly on the first post. i was also curious as to why there was no deadline posted (i did find it eventually; its not immediately obvious that the events page would have it)

Just edited the OP to explicitly list the deadline date and time, and to clarify that it's further mentioned on the event page.
dam not even a week and already the best moderator

#smrpg{<3}
He certainly gets things done faster than some of the others. But he is a forum moderator which is probably on of the easiest positions to handle in that regard so he can jump on issues as soon as they arise.

*sigh...

Okay, talking about the Mosts this year, I found the new voting system to be quite pleasant to work with; far better than posting directly and then relying in a bot (i.e. VilelaBot) to count the votes freely scattered somewhere. Kudos to Telinc1 for this improvement.

Now, waiting for the deadline and voting count. Maybe the wind will bring another "Best Username" to me... I don't think so.
