I have an update on BLDC. I'm shifting the start date for it back a few days from August 9th to August 15th because I'm moving out of my apartment right around the 9th. Since I'm also hosting the contest and planning the rules, I obviously need to be there. Shifting the date back will give me a little bit of extra time to work on the contest without also coordinating a move at the same time.
By the way, the name has finally been revealed. I didn't intend for it to be a secret as long as it was, but that's how it happened. I hope you're looking forward to the Baserom Level Design Contest. We'll have more details soon!
i also had suspicions that it was going to be a baserom level design contest
-------------------- On Pixel Art Requests: I generally do not accept free work unless I either have the time, if I see your project worth my time to contribute towards, and that is usually me doing the approaching to you on that second part. I do not accept speculative work as I do have various art I made on-hand with me. I am more receptive to paid work and equivalent exchange of resources (trades) in which case, you can DM me wherever I have an active presence on for the details and we can work something out. If not, then don't DM unless absolutely necessary.
Oh I forgot to mention that the reason the end date is now listed as tentative is because we're still deciding if we should extend the deadline back to match the contest's shifted start date even if it will overlap another planned contest. We'll have it figured out by the time BLDC begins.
It's a new type of contest, and I think the details are still TBA, but based on the name, I would guess it could be a type of contest similar to VLDC, except with a base ROM that everyone has to work of.
I wonder if it'll be something like "who can make the most brand-new experience on a level in the base game without making any changes to the level itself" altho if that's the case then calling it a "level design" contest would be debatable.
