This might end up being a hack who knows

Just like smw Its incomplete, partly unstable, but still something. Bless SMWC for resources.

Edit: Broken link fixed.
You may want to replace "httphttps" with "https" in your ROM hack URL, just saying.

Legacy ports zip (now that those went down because Dropbox)
pretty epic stuff here, the level with your custom player is really good, it's like a totally new game. The submap in a level blew me away since i love overworld stuff.
Finished Hacks

In progress

If it's meant to be a proof of concept, or proof you're working on it, this is pretty great stuff! Submaps in a level are a fantastic idea, even though the current implementation is more buggy than would do it good.

I'd have loved to see powerup stacking or play the rhythm game, but apparently both of those lead to unrelated levels?

You've got some really nice ideas, but I'm not sure whether this tech demo shows them off too well. The most polished one was the rhythm game, but I don't think it even checks whether you play it as intended (I was also able to break it with L/R scrolling). The submap is a really nice idea and looks really good, but feels off and often makes little sense (especially if you try to jump around). Windmill Hills was aesthetically pleasing, too, and played pretty well, but the second room was quite broken (serious NMI overflow and problems with scrolling which made the hill to the right disappear entirely).

I think all of these can be turned into really nice gimmicks - keep working on them! I'd be really happy to see more progress on this project next C3, especially Windmill Hills and the submap.
You get instant kudos from me by using Live A Live music. This is pretty cool.

Mario swims on the ground sometimes, but the submap level is great. I love this idea. Makes me want to try making a hack where every level is a different genre.

Hey this guy looks neat- oh. Oooooooh... well, he tried.

I don't understand what this is. I just push down at the same pace for a minute? Idk, it seems like it's supposed to do more.

Would have liked to see some actual powerup stacking but this exploding key is cool.

Yes.

you're mom bannd
as mentioned, there really isn't much here. good luck to your future endeavors here.

Windmill Hills and Chuck Boss broke spectacularly.

Nightwalk can be completed without pressing any buttons, can be desynced with L/R, and you can kill yourself in it by holding the jump button.

Submap in a Level is incredibly buggy when it comes to snapping Mario to the path and Mario's walking animation.

I'm not sure what Powerup Stacking is supposed to be showing. It's not the exploding key because 1-1 of the level submap showed this off much better, and the key spawned into existence and exploded on me while I was messing with the turn blocks to the left looking for powerups to stack.

A lot of this looks really promising and can be really good in the future. But I'm going to be honest with you; this was clearly not ready to be shown off.
