That's a weird name, huh? The way that name was given is quite ridiculous in itself. This collab is done with Microsoft OneDrive software to share files more simply, the thing is that we had problems with the connections. Then i said X-Drive for joking and in the end since we had no idea of a name at all, well it became the name of the collab.

The hack will be slightly in the VIP Mario style, so it will be a challenging hack.

For example, after finishing the world 1, the choice of a world will be possible, either the 2, 3 or 4 (with Star Paths). But when you take a Star Path, you won't be able to come back so easily. You need to clear the level "E" (accroym of "Exit") to return to the main world, these levels will be harder than others.
In this worlds you need to destroy the 3 castles of the 3 worlds to unlock the world 5.
It's also a concept inspired of VIP Mario.

A demo will be coming soon. Unfortunately, it couldn't be ready in time for the C3.

Looks nice! I'm waiting for the demo release, also how many people were involved in this one?
Oh, I forgot to mention that. This collab is with two other friends

You know, for a collab "in the VIP Mario style", it looks nothing like VIP Mario. The HDMA and custom graphics everywhere is not really what VIP Mario did.

That said, grats on actually managing to make a collab of sorts. Most collabs do fail before making three levels, and that is not a joke.

Legacy ports zip (now that those went down because Dropbox)
Thanks, Actually the "VIP Mario style" is more in the way the levels are built and not on the graphics

Also wondering, did you made those turn blocks and coins in the shown screenshots?
Looks like an interesting collection of levels for sure. I'm not too familiar with VIP Mario myself so I don't really understand or get the inspiration behind the level design, but major props to you three for getting a collab like this made in the first place. Most of those fall flat within only a couple days, let alone progressing enough to have a solid chunk of playable levels. Hoping to see more of this in the future!
Thanks Veck !

For the turns blocks it's these blocks

From the given screenshots, this VIP-like hack looks pretty good. Besides a couple of off-looking levels, the gameplay here appears well done. I'm interested to see how this develops and appears in the next months.
Good luck developing this hack, and hope to see your hack next C3. #smw{:TUP:}
The screenshots / gifs look pretty promising. Considering that only 3 people work on this, this looks very pretty so far. I especially like the concept of the star warps you explained in your opening thread and i'm curious how this will be eventually executed (and how it'll play).

Don't worry that there's no demo for now. Some decent screenhots are a better teaser than a quickly made, rough and buggy demo. Take your time to finish this, so the quality can keep as high as in your current pics.

Good luck with this to you and your friends! #smw{:peace:}
